QUINN HAS SOLID WORKOUT
A league source tells us that Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn had a solid workout on Sunday, at the first of two Irish Pro Day events.
Quinn showed very good touch and timing in his passes, we're told. But his deep ball (not his strength) was a little wobbly.
Another source said that Quinn looked "good but not great." Per the source, he had accuracy and strength on short routes, and poor accuracy on the long routes.

Also, Quinn opted not to run. Apparently, he'll run at the second Notre Dame Pro Day workout, scheduled for March 22.

Seems like Quinn either improved his stock or didnt at all. We wont anything till the Draft. While it is lots of fun following players before the draft, it can be dissapointing when the players you want are not there. I hope Miami either Drafts Quinn or they find a partner to Trade down and aquire more picks. As much as I would like to have Quinn on this team there are other players that can really stabalize this team for the long run in this draft. There are guys like Olsen that can get drafted in the middle of the 1st rd. There is also Kalil who can be drafted early in the second rd. Of course there are QBs like Staton, Edwards and Kolb which scouts have really liked. So we shall see I for one think that if Quinn and Levi Brown are not there at 9, Its either trade down or BPA.

Did the Texans just sign A. Green ? big $$?

Yes they did, I think they will take Levi Brown. They are also looking at Patrick Ramsey.

If I read somewhere correct, Quinn hit on 58 of 63 throws?? Four were apparent drops, one was a bad throw.

Even in an open field w/out defense, that's pretty good!!

Not a game situation, of course, but if you can't throw w/ nobody around, can you be expected to under pressure? He's at least half-way there!

Unless Houston picks up a FA Qb they will take him. Unless we trade up which I doubt we do. I don't believe any other team will take him.

He was in the ND practice facilty and missed some throws. I'm shocked.

According to John Clayton of ESPN, he said BQ looked okay and would be ideal in Childress' system.

I just love some of the comments Romeo Crennel is making. Does he get cut of BQ's salary or will BQ lower his demands if drafted by the Browns.

From what I watched I have to agree with clayton. On more than one occasion the receiver slowed down to catch the ball. If the receiver had kept pace, it would have been sorely underthrown.

I was all hyped up because quinn did nothing but talk at the combine, and had us all anticipating a big showing at his pro day. He looked okay... is a great way to put it. He said he wanted to throw at his pro day so he had his own receivers own field etc etc etc... He isn't going to have any of those guys in the league. I wish he would have thrown at the combine.
I haven't heard what crennell is saying, but if you were to ask weis I am sure quinn is going to be a multiple superbowl mvp.
I wait and wait for the pro day, and I am less fired up about him than I was 2 weeks ago.

either way, I don't think we get him anyway. new qb coach or not, somebody will pick him up before us.
I'm sticking with landry or levi brown.

He neither hurt nor improved his stock in the draft.

Just be honest, there is nothing he could have done at his pro day that would have made you change your mind. Also, where did you see coverage of him throwing, I'd like to watch some it was on the net.

In 65 passes having a couple that the WR has to just slow down for to catch isnt exactly a big deal unless you're just looking for things to nit pick. Players dont work out at the combine all the time opting instead to do the pro day, why does Quinn get so much crap for doing what is becoming routine?

If we really want Quinn, we're going to need to trade up. Origionally, this wasn't a possibility, but with the Welker trade, we have put ourselves into the position to jump up and get him. According to the draft value chart ( http://www.theredzone.org/2006/draft/draftvaluechart.asp ) Our three picks are worth 2150 points. That gives us the ability to talk to picks 3 or 4. If we move up that high, we would definately have a shot at Quinn. Otherwise, I don't see him getting past the Vikings or the Texans.

More and more each day I feel like Quinn won't make it to pick #9.

I agree. Childress is getting very interested in Quinn right now and I don't like it. We may have to trade up for Quinn. But with a spare 2nd and 7th, I'm sure a deal's more capable. Why couldn't Quinn just follow Shea's advice and tank his stock.
