We fail to land Quinn, but Peterson falls. The Packers overpay by giving up 16 & 47 in order to secure Peterson, whom they foolishly believe will help Favre win one more Super Bowl. We use the pick to draft Joe Staley, arguably the second best LT in the draft.

We decide to move up to get Ryan Kalil, by far the best center in the draft. The Bears agree to trade down beings as they already have the 37th overall pick in the draft, but do not have their original second round pick (Pick 63) and are targeting a number of guys at the bottom of the second/top of the third.

Justin Blalock, arguably the best guard in the draft, falls to 40. We snap him up, completing a trifecta of top 40 picks that finally shores up our lackluster OL.

Meanwhile, one of our highest rated QBs after Quinn falls to 47, allowing us to still draft our potential franchise QB.

That's four picks in the top fifty. Sure, we do not pick again until 181, but we still have five picks on the second day too. We would make the most of them, and could trade one to Kansas in exchange for Trent Green.

End Result: Three talented rookie offensive linemen who can probably start right away, creating an amazing left half of our OL for years to come hopefully. We also add our potential franchise QB and Trent Green to lead us for a season or two in the meantime. And we still end up choosing another four rookies on the second day of the draft, giving us a total of eight picks in the 2007 NFL Draft with half of them in the top fifty.

What would you think if this were to happen?

Makes more sense than voting for Al Gore ;)

Seriously, we could then try to look for a Marques Colston type in the latter rounds.

interesting..very interesting. i would be welcome to that

I like, but I jus don't think your trade scenario's are likely, but we'll see what happens.

Wow, I actually like this idea and I'm one of those guys that has hated everyone else's ideas of trading picks to move up and grab Brady Quinn or draft Ted Ginn Jr (not so much lately) in the #9 spot. The likelyhood of Peterson dropping to us at our spot in the draft is actually very likely which would give us some great ammunition to trade with another team that badly needs a premier RB. If we could get a dominant OL for years to come I'd be pretty happy even if it meant we didn't address the QB or WR position in the early rounds of this year's draft.

I would jump for joy to get a draft like this one! EXCELLENT!....

I think we would be set for a long-long time up front ...and that would make whomever is running or passing the ball that much better...wow potential
4 pro bowlers including Carey with that group...we can dream

I'm not so sure that Kolb or Beck will last quite that long. KC, Detroit, and Minny would all be looking for a QB in the later first or second...there is too much risk that we won't get even one of the 2nd tier of QBs if we don't get Quinn in the first to pass one up at #31 or #40. QB values seem to rise the closer you get to draft day. Now Quinn is being talked about as the 1st overall pick and his value is a bit of a reach, even at #9...Kolb, Stanton, Edwards and perhaps Beck might all be gone after our pick at #40...

i like it, but what are the chances of the phins getting all those guys? wouldn't we have to trade down a couple of times for better pics?

I would be a very happy man if the Phins were lucky enough to get those 4 players. Not too likely though.
