My guess is that the first episode of Hard Knocks was something of a set up as per Les Brown. Selective filming can make just about anyone look bad- we'll see where he stands in the coming weeks.

Well, Mr. Brown shows up, we'll see what happens:

TE sighting: Both Les Brown & Egnew had big catches from Pat Devlin down the middle. Egnew needs to seriously bulk up. Dolphins are lining up Clay & Fasano a ton in the slot as WR. I don't think any LB on this team besides Dansby & Burnett can cover Clay, artist at getting open. Also Fasano is going to have a big year, he is a red zone weapon. Clay, Fasano & Brown all had touchdowns tonight. Garrard connected with Fasano, Moore coonected with Clay & Devlin connected with Brown.
 
Yeah you've got to be really careful what you interperate from what the show actually airs, there's tons more footage that they cut out, anyone like you said they can make anyone look bad if they want or vice versa. Like the guy in the other thread who's alread decided the QB competition, don't jump to any conclusions based on this show.
 
Not sure if I would say they are painting him in a bad light. To me he come off as a VERY determined individual that WANTS to improve.

Brown is obviously extremely physically talented AND smart. He's still one to watch, regardless of the general dumping on of him after the first Hard Knocks episode.

It's also funny how short sighted and cliche driven certain people are as opposed to having distinct and well thought out opinions, generally rendering whatever they have to say worthless.
 
my guess if the kid sticks around .. they make him look bad at first and then show him coming around .. makes for better tv .. maybe he isnt struggling that bad
 
I can definitely see the "Hard Knocks" crew milking a certain angle out of this to make a better story. If he improves in blocking and pass-protection, that just makes the redemption sweeter (come later episodes).

You never know, but the guy is just physically talented in a major way- then again so is Chris Hogan, so was some WR in Dolphins TC 5 years ago or so- tall guy, fast as hell, could jump through the roof- he didn't make it. CK probably remembers this guy, volley ball player I think from somewhere in California. Regardless, I like Brown and Hogan, hope that they do well.

It's a great story and I know the odds are stacked against him, but I hope he makes it. At least, he gets on the PS.
 
This guy has practice squad written all over him..but with the exposure he's getting on hard knocks he'll probaly get picked up by someone..watch out for rick spielman and the vikings!
