Obviously this is tantamount to a total rebuild. What would it look like?

Vernon,Miller,Shelby,Matt Moore, Sheppard, etc. all walk. This would pretty much guarantee maximum compensation picks in 2017 as long as we only sign mostly FA's who have been cut by other teams. Four is the maximum. Miller,Vernon,Matthews, and Shelby should get us there.

Mario Williams,Michael Griffin, Jahri Evans,Will Beatty, William Moore,John Sullivan is a very likely cut by the Vikings. It is highly likely there will be a few LB's and CB's cut as well. Maybe a nice rotational DT as well. There already has been but nobody I think the Dolphins would be interested in.

Most older vets would be traded or released. Grimes,Greg Jennings,Koa Misi,Earl Mitchell,Dallas Thomas. I predict Grimes will be traded and I'm hoping for a 5th rounder, probably mid to late at the most. A 6th more likely. Koa Misi could on a strange day in April be traded for a late round pick to a team with a need and a lot of cap. He would have to be willing to take a pay cut but there may be a team out there that thinks he would be a steal for a 7th round pick, and if he stays healthy, they might be right. This won't show up in the mock draft. We already have na extra 7th from the Will Davis thing.

Dolphins would have to really consider if they want to move forward with Mike Pouncey as the leader of what has been an abysmal OL. Awful lot of money in the future. In a rebuild I would think trading the perennial pro bowl player would be ideal. Dolphins need new leadership IMO. In a rebuild, they may want to look for quantity in draft pick compensation rather than holding out for 1 high pick. A 3rd,4th, and 6th from a team with a deep roster.

Is Tannehill's place set in stone going forward, or should they draft genuine competition at the position? My take; if Wentz is there, you draft him. He is a sure fire Hall Of Fame QB and is already better than Tannehill at everything. There is not one aspect to being an NFL QB that Tannehill is better at than Carson Wentz. Not even one..............

Draft:
1st......Carson Wentz QB
2nd.....Do not like this spot at all, trade down! add another 3rd, get better value later on. Draft Kenneth Dixon RB
3rd.....Spencer Drango OG
3rd .....James Cowser DE/OLB
3rd......Scooby Wright LB
4th.......Dienodre Hall DB
4th......Joe Haeg OT
5th.......Cole Toner....OC
5th...... Joe Dahl OG
6th......Tanner McAvoy TE
6th....LeShaun Sims CB
7th......Keivarae Russell CB
7th......Terrence Smith OLB

FA's: Probably sign a bevy of these guys in a rebuilding year.
CB....CJ Smith
CB...Aidarius Barnes
WR....Zach Vraa
WR....Ed Eagan
DT....AJ Zuttah
QB...Vad Lee
MLB....Luke Rhodes
DT David Onyemota

Roster/Depth Chart
QB....Tannehill,Wentz,Vad Lee
RB....Dixon,Ajayi,Williams,and a veteran that is cut
WR.....Landry,Parker,Sims,Hazel,Vraa,Eagan
TE.....Cameron,Simms,Stoneburner,McAvoy
OT....Albert,James,Beatty,Haeg
OG....Evans,Drango,Dahl,Turner
OC....Sullivan,Douglas,Toner

DT....Suh,Phillips,a signed FA that was cut,David Onyemota,AJ Zuttah,DeAndre Coleman
DE....Mario Williams,Terrence Fede,Cam Wake,Dion Jordan,Damontre Moore,Chris McCain
MLB....Scooby Wright,Zach Vigil,Luke Rhodes
OLB....Jelani Jenkins,James Cowser,Chris McCain,Neville Hewitt,Mike Hull,Terrance Smith
Safety...Jones,Griffin,Moore,Michael Thomas,Jamar Taylor,Walt Aikens
CB......Lippett,A veteran who was cut,Dieondre Hall,Bobby McCain,LeShaun Sims,Aidarius Barnes,CJ Smith,Keivarae Russell

Darr,Franks,Denny

With 11 picks and a ship load of salary cap space in 2017 the Dolphins should be able to strenthen their roster and begin their dynasty.

Just another approach to the off season. Food for thought, not a prediction, not even really a suggestion. Just looking at it from a different angle.

Lmfao wentz a sure fire hall of famer..... A little bit early to start drinking dont you think... Not only that but in order to get max comp picks we wouldnt be able to sign anyone. Hope hall of fame wentz an escape artist to get away from Dlines. On top of that you want to get rid of miller and pur a qb that started like 18 games vs terrible competition with inexpierenced runningbacks. Sounds like an opposing defenses dream offense to play against

It's never too early to start drinking. As evidenced by this theory.

The rules for comp picks allow teams to sign as many FA's as they want as long as they are players that have been cut. Cut players do not effect compensatory pick evaluation. NFL 101, check your syllabus.

Going by your spelling and/or typos, one may think it is you that has been nipping a little.

Carson Wentz IS and escape artist of the highest caliber, and he Will be in the Hall someday, mark my words.

I don't want to get rid of Miller at all. However, in a total rebuild you don't pay a veteran RB 7 mil a year. That is in your, Win Now! scenarios.

I don't agree that losing ov and miller means auto rebuild nor would I say the same about rishard Matthews and derrick shelby

Was stuck in traffic and writing on my phone chief, wrote it as i was crawling going 2 mph. Havent heard one report that miller wants or warrents 7 million, pure speculation on your part. Ross just released that Gase has 3 years to make the playoffs, why on earth would you assume that we'd go with an unproven qb and runningback along with trying to fix the defense. You've created more holes and have put us farther away from winning. Even if you're alcoholic wild guess of Wentz being a hall of famer is correct, even best case scenario what does Wentz look like year 3 come due or die for Gase. Even best case scenario, wentz may play slightly better then tannehill did his year 3 but even then is it worth gambling that he does become that? For Gase, most likely not. Tannehill is our qb, deal with it. He may not be a future hall of famer like Wentz ;) but he's the next 3 years for gase, not a rookie.

You just need to read the whole post again. I mean actually read the whole post. It appears you just skimmed over it, made a bunch of assumptions, and presumptuously made several comments that don't even apply to what was posted.

As far as Wentz goes, Kudos to whoever gets him. The other 31 teams will regret not doing everything humanly possible to get him. Probably for about the next 18 years.

There are many ways to approach an off season. This was just a different perspective. Like I posted, not a prediction, not a suggestion.

Sight unseen, with better coaching and game planning we're a better team with OV, Miller and Matthews than with any draft pick or another team's garbage. Can we keep them all? Unlikely.. but it's worth trying. And so long as the QB is pissing blood, it doesn't matter whether it's Tannehill, Wentz, or Tom Brady under center! Fix the ****ing OL first!!!!

Someone had some fun on their Xbox this morning!

I gave you a thumbs up just on the work alone that one into this post. From all the press I've been reading I doubt that Went lasts till eighth, But if he does I would have no problem if they went out way. The rest is pure speculation like you said. Regardless I think this team is three years away just on the fact even the veterans have to learn how to win. The other thing is this team needs to start hitting on the early top four pics. Quantity or not

Well I can't say I disagree with the post but with Ross and Tannembaum on board this team will never do a complete rebuild IMHO. They both always feel they are "close".

Irony. It's not just for breakfast anymore...... BTW, where are you getting all those extra 2016 picks from? If we let everybody walk and don't sign prime free agents we wont get comp picks until 2017. For the record, I do tend to agree that you'd rather be less active in free agency so you do get more comp picks, and we have SUCKED at that. Of course to lose more talent than you sign you need to draft well, and we have sucked at that too. It's not a coincidental correlation.

Sure fire HOF'er is a bit of a stretch. 21 of the 22 teams he has started against were against FCS competition, the vaunted Iowa State Cyclones, that went 2-10 were the lone exception. He looks good, but will probably need a season to acclimate himself to the speed of the NFL. He will be gone by the time the phins pick anyway. QB needy teams will reach for him. The Browns, Dallas or maybe even San Fran.
