He's slipped.
He's old.
He's lost a step.

Things people have been saying all year.

Well he's made the probowl as an alternate and it definately isn't off name recognition as he hasn't gone since 2002.

So the debate is on. Is Madison slipping just a figment of most peoples imaginations or is it true that teams really aren't throwing at him and he's still got 'it' and the true reason the pass defense has slipped to the middle of the pack is due to a rookie on the otherside and Reggie "the target" Howard.

All I know is it's not a definate that he's gone now. Perhaps it's all just perception.

i don't think saban ever planned on getting rid of him, though this will make it harder to get madison to restructure his contract im sure.

Madisons a solid player. im stressing the word solid. He's not going to shut anyone down, but if you had to pick who you want to attack, it wouldn't be him. simple as that.

He makes the plays that need to be made, if he would just hang on to a few of those possible INT's we wouldnt be having this discussion at all

he is still a top 10 possibly top 5 corner in this league

if madison is not in sabans future plans then this offseason would be the best time to deal him.

He restructured last year for a very pallatable 4 years around $18 million I think. As long as he's playing above average and keeps his tackling on the perimeter up so he doesn't get in the doghouse he may see 2 more of those years.

At the very least it gives some breathing room to see if Poole has it or not and get a Poole replacement if needed.

Sam is starting to come around in this system lately. It seems he is staying at home a little more and making some tackles. Everyone tends to forget he cut his teeth in press coverage. We are in zone alot these days. Tough to overcome for a guy who is already set in his ways.

I still like Madison in Miami. If the price is right.

Might not be the right place to say this but has anyone else noticed that Yerimiah Bell has been outstanding at the safety position and special teams.

This guy can play.
50th post. Yes.

He's definately nice as a change of pace safety. He's solid at blitzing and making special teams plays.

The bigest reason I have felt he would be gone is his poor tackling. Saban is flat out not going to keep around CBs that cant tackle.... (as he hinted in the Clevland PC) Now that Sam is starting to tackle beter I just dont know. If he would lower his cap a little bit I could see him staying.

Madison will retire a PHIN ... get that through all of ur heads.

nate clements is top dog at corner. asanti samuel is somewhere in there. ronde barber deserves consideration (for years), as does his teammate brian kelly. nathan vasher is making a name for himself
