I like Tannehill and I'm hoping for the best but if Rosen or even Mayfield drop to us I'd hope we draft the QB and here's my reason. Last year when Tanny went down we had no back up plan. Gase doesn't believe in Moore or else, he wouldn't have brought in Cutler. The ideal situation would have been for the team to have a good young prospect that they could have gotten out on the field and let him learn so that he could be our QB of the future but instead we got a never has been veteran that "led" us to 6 wins. So we didn't make the playoffs AND we didn't have a young QB out there learning so that maybe he could be our QB moving forward. That was a wasted opportunity and a wasted 2017 season.
Now knowing this, why would we take the chance again on trusting that Tannehill will not only stay healthy but also, that he'll play as good as he was playing when he got hurt? Of course I'm hoping for the best but insanity needs to stop. You can't make the same mistake again. If Tanny goes down then the best thing that could happen is for the team to have a young QB that you can play and let him take his lumps out there but at least you're getting him ready for the future and when you consider that this is mostly a young team then that young QB can grow with the rest of the players.
If Tannehill stays healthy and plays as good as we're hoping he will then great, what a good problem to have but you need to cover your butts and have someone you believe in waiting in the wings in case something goes wrong. There's no more important position in all sports so take care of it when you get the chance instead of waiting and hoping like the team always does. That's my cents
