I like Tannehill and I'm hoping for the best but if Rosen or even Mayfield drop to us I'd hope we draft the QB and here's my reason. Last year when Tanny went down we had no back up plan. Gase doesn't believe in Moore or else, he wouldn't have brought in Cutler. The ideal situation would have been for the team to have a good young prospect that they could have gotten out on the field and let him learn so that he could be our QB of the future but instead we got a never has been veteran that "led" us to 6 wins. So we didn't make the playoffs AND we didn't have a young QB out there learning so that maybe he could be our QB moving forward. That was a wasted opportunity and a wasted 2017 season.

Now knowing this, why would we take the chance again on trusting that Tannehill will not only stay healthy but also, that he'll play as good as he was playing when he got hurt? Of course I'm hoping for the best but insanity needs to stop. You can't make the same mistake again. If Tanny goes down then the best thing that could happen is for the team to have a young QB that you can play and let him take his lumps out there but at least you're getting him ready for the future and when you consider that this is mostly a young team then that young QB can grow with the rest of the players.

If Tannehill stays healthy and plays as good as we're hoping he will then great, what a good problem to have but you need to cover your butts and have someone you believe in waiting in the wings in case something goes wrong. There's no more important position in all sports so take care of it when you get the chance instead of waiting and hoping like the team always does. That's my cents

Agreed, don't ever want to go through another year like 2017. Also with the way QB's are going down these days you really need 2 good ones.
And if Ryan doesn't stay on the field this year and tear it up I think you have to move on from him. Lots of QB's have gotten better when they see their possible replacement drafted early. I think Ryan would respond well.

Highly doubtful QB@11 -- don't believe ANY of the target group will be on the board. Most of the league needs a new emerging *star* QB so... We blew our opportunity by winning a few meaningless games and therefore fell out of contention (so typical of this franchise's karma)! LOL.

Anyway. Yea the idiots running the show have continuously neglected the position (as we have for so many years) and essentially invested all their eggs in the Thill basket. We just have to hope (cross our flippers) his knee is good to go and maybe we can land a LEGIT developmental QB somewhere later in the draft...

Beyond that -- in all honesty -- I get the feeling falling out of the top QB sweepstakes this draft is gonna haunt this franchise for years to come...

Agreed, Danny. The question I have is who. Would any of the top 5 be okay, or is there a guy or two that would be a better fit? I prefer QB's Bucky Brooks describes as a TRUCK (one doesn't need a stellar supporting cast to make things happen). For example, I think Mayfield and Jackson are TRUCKS. I am not sure about Mayfield, but I think Jackson will be there when we pick at 11. We might even be able to trade down and get him. However, that said, I am more confident that Mayfield would be a good fit, but not so sure about Jackson even though I like him. Even though Mayfield will need time to marinate -as Vaark likes to say - I think Jackson is a wildcard and really could end up being a heck of a player in the long run if he can get his footwork fixed. I do know one thing, Jackson would fill some seats. The guy is electric and would be fun to watch!

At this point I think Rosen is the best fit but Mayfeld can really spark a whole team and the fan base. I'd not draft Jackson in the first round and you'd have to change a lot of things on your offense to fit him in and he's not accurate which is a hard problem to solve. I do wish we had not won those stupid games we won that took us out of the top 6 but that's what this team always does

To me, it simply comes down to this. Do Rosen, Mayfield or any of the other quarterback in the draft have a higher upside than Tannehill? If they do in the estimation of the front office, then it's a no-brainer to take one.

I'd go even further to suggest a trade-up, possibly jumping the Jets. But, again that's only if one of these guys is seen as an eventual upgrade.

Personally, I'm on the Mayfield bandwagon. He reminds me of Favre and I hope the Jets don't get him.

I think the Jets wind up with Cousins, personally.
Agreed. And this is what will shake the draft up because right now everyone is mocking QB to the Jets at 6.

I don't believe there's a chance of Mayfield, Rosen, or Darnold falling to 11 though. Someone will move up. We will have to move up to get one, and we should if we can.

I disagree with your idea that the QBs will be gone by our pick. This is a strong year for free agent QBs.

Kirk Cousins, Case Keenum, Teddy Bridgewater, A.J. McCarron all have to be dispersed.

Secondly, while still 50-50 at this point, signs continue to point towards Giants passing on QB.

Let’s say Hue Jackson gets his old QB McCarron in Cleveland, Giants pass on Qb, Cousins signs with either Jets or Broncos, it’s theoretically possible the QBs don’t start coming off the board until pick 5 or 6.

Of course, there’s always the strong possibility of teams trading up, but out of Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield, and Allen, it’s hard to imagine there not being AT LEAST one of them on the board at 11

A number of people want a QB at #11. What do you think the probability is Miami drafts a QB at #11?

When the reports first came out that Miami was poking around QBs, notably Mayfield, I initially thought it was a smokescreen. Now, after all the reports since then, I think there’s something to it.

I don’t think Miami trades up for a QB. But if someone like Mayfield or Rosen were to fall to 11, there’s a good chance they’ll be in Miami imo

Unless a team trades in front of us, one of the 4 top QB's will be there for us. Not saying we'll draft one there but one will be there

If the Vikings are even close to the max offer, he'd be a fool to not pick them. They are Super Bowl ready, just need an above average QB to put them over the top. That D is championship caliber.

OK. So we'll see.

Kirk Cousins, Case Keenum, Teddy Bridgewater, A.J. McCarron all have to be dispersed.
...outside of Cousins -- who I do NOT believe to be a legit "franchise coitusback," the balance of your list is uninspiring -- IMO.

Really? My opinion is the direct opposite of that. But I assume you didn't predict Marino being the 6th QB selected in the '83 draft -- and neither did I.

True, i think there will be trades but one will be there. I don't think we will take the remaining one though unless it's one that tbaum covets.

We are not desperate as certain other teams are but if they love one and feel he's Goff or Wentz reincarnation then they need to do what they do to get him.
