Should say want answers not what answers
Sorry but I just wanted to blow off some steam about this Tiger Woods story. In everything I have read about it the cops and media seem to act like he needs to explain why he was leaving his home at 2:30am.........why? Since when do you have to tell the cops why you were leaving your house? I understand they want to investigate the accident and maybe give the guy a ticket for reckless driving or something but I'm just really annoyed that the cops and media think they are owed answers beyond that. This is turning into a police state before our eyes.
Have you ever noticed cops always ask you where your coming from and where your going when they pull you over for something as simple as speeding? Why, it's none of their F-ing business where we are coming from or going too. Last time I got pulled over I told the cop I didn't think it was his business where I was going I was on the sidewalk for over an hour while they searched my car even though I told them they had no consent to do so. They claimed that me not telling them my schedule gave them "probable cause". Needless to say they found nothing and I drove straight to the police station and filled a complaint for harassment and they stuck the 3 of them on desk duty and after the investigation fired one (he had several other complaints on file and this was the final straw) the other two were suspended for two weeks with out pay.
I respect the police but citizens need to stand up to these bad apples that abuse their power. The good cops don't want bad ones giving the force a black eye anymore then we do.
Sorry I know I kind of rambled on there and this will get no response and go into the never to be seen again black hole of FinHeaven pretty quick, but it felt good to let some steam off thanks.
Oh one more thing they are suppose to get your consent in order to search your car but did you know that the simple act of refusing is enough to give them "probable cause". So in effect there is no such thing as a right to refuse a search it's just something they say to make citizens feel like they still have rights
