I read this in another post, and I have heard it been said before, and then I hear people throw in their 2 cents but they are usually not informed on the matter.

First off, the media does NOT have it in for us... ESPN does. The rest of sports media are just mama birds that regurgitate everything they hear from other outlets or ESPN, they do not have it in for anybody, they are just generally uninformed and run with other's opinions.

But it is 100% true that ESPN is biased against Miami teams.

ESPN headquarters is located in the North Eastern United States in Bristol, Connecticut. Most of their anchors hail from the North East and you can tell they have an affinity for teams of all sports from the North East from places like Philly, New York, and New England because they focus their coverage on them. They are big money market teams but so is Miami.

Miami's biggest sports rivals come from the Northeast... Jets, Bills, Pats, Knicks, Celtics, Mets and more...

ESPN does not only hate the Dolphins but they also hate the Miami Heat and the Miami Hurricanes.

Did anyone else notice how LeBron James was a scumbag when he played for the Heat but now that he is back with Cleveland he is the king again? I thought he was a scumbag because he left Cleveland, so when he went back he wasn't a scumbag anymore?! He was a scumbag because he went to Miami and much to everyone's chagrin he succeeded.

Truth is, people who are not from Miami almost never see it... and people from South Florida usually know exactly what I am talking about.

Either way **** ESPN and GO MIAMI DOLPHINS!

I don't think the media is "out to get" any team. They do, however, focus their attention and coverage on big market teams. Period. They want ad revenue, people in certain areas will turn the channel if ESPN is not talking about the Yankees (Lakers, Red Sox, Patriots, Giants, Bulls, etc) they continually ignore smaller markets, Miami is a smaller market. The exception was when Lebron (the highest profile player in the NBA) when he was in Miami. Win rings and they will be forced to cover the Dolphins.

ESPN didn't slurp on LBJ and the Heat while he was there?? He wasn't 'the King' while in Miami? Are you nuts? ESPN loves the flavor of the month/year. The reason people from S. Florida see such things is because their perspectives are a bit skewed (understandably so) unlike the Dolphin fans from elsewhere. Who cares what they say anyway?

I wouldn't consider Miami a smaller market at all.

I think it's just that most people don't actually watch that many Dolphins games in their entirety. If you did, you would probably realize the talent this team has been building for years now or maybe that's just me, don't really care either way. I know what I know, we're scary good and young on paper due to years of excellent team building.

This is hilariously sad. No one is out to get us. We are mostly ignored because we are about as mediocre as it gets. 7-9 or 8-8 every season - who gives a **** about a team like that?

I can't believe people legitimately believe that ESPN has a conspiracy against us... Hahaha

Take off your tinfoil hat; the media is not out to get the Miami Dolphins. Just because they are headquartered in NE does not mean they have anything against Miami. As far as Miami being a smaller market, I agree. There are a lot of Dolphins fans around the country, but how many Marlins, Heat, and Panthers fans are there? Large markets include New York, Boston, Chicago, LA (any of those cities that have their own ESPN page is considered a Large Market).

Is this a joke? ESPN aside from a few analysts loved the heat and constantly covered them in the big 3. They even had a HEAT INDEX on their web site FFS. And the reason they don't cover the dolphins favorably is because we haven't done **** since 08. who the **** would praise a perennial 7-9 and 8-8 team???

Come on man... ESPN doesn't hate us... They simply talk about teams that are worth talking about. No one wants to talk about an 8-8 team. Nobody wants to hear about an 8-8 team either. We've sucked for so long that we've been thrown aside. I don't think I've heard one bad thing from the media on the Tannehill signing. Why? because we made a smart move. Something this organization has failed to do for so many years... Point is WIN and we will be talked about... LOSE and we will continue to be the laughing stock of the league.

This organization has been making smart moves since Tannenbaum/Hickey took over and trust me ESPN and all of the media is noticing.

Now lets go make the fkn playoffs!

I think there are many more "Phans" here who are much more negative than any media. Go figure.

James is a scumbag. But it's b/c he left Miami for Cleveland.
