The Miami Dolphins have offered QB Alex Smith a Multi-Year Deal

Unlike many players with no love for their previous team, Alex Smith is waiting for Peyton Manning's choice. If PM goes to 49ers, then he'll sign with Dolphins.

How stinky has turned this once prowd franchise...

I hope Alex Smith takes our offer and Manning goes to tenn or den. The 9ers get shafted.... That would help me to cheer up a little....

I wouldn't be opposed to the team signing Smith. At 27, I think he's yet to reach his peak. Not only did he have an effective season last year, he had one hell of a postseason...his first playoff games, mind you...throwing for nearly 500 yards and 5 TDs/0 Ints. He definitely didn't lose that NFC Championship game. If it weren't for his kick/punt returner, he takes his team to the Super Bowl in his first postseason appearance. Not too bad.

And then Jim Harbaugh turns Josh Johnson or Colin Kaepernick into franchise QB's.

The biggest mistake we made under the Ireland/Ross regime is not firing Sparano in 2011 while going after Harbaugh. We lost alot of points on that move and pretty much lost any chance to nab Harbaugh in the process.

Philbin certainly doesn't have Harbaugh's swag, lets hope he has his ability to improve young veteran QB's.

All of these rumors always end bad for us so im not getting my hopes up i still keep hearing Smith is likely to got back to 9ers..... I guess were in for another wacky day on finheaven....

Alex Smith is not a very good qb IMO. His team was loaded with talent on the Defensive side of the ball..The 49ers had the worst red zone offense in the NFL...They won because of the D...Not saying Alex cant make plays cause he can but he is not a franchise guy not even close..I think Moore would beat him out for the job.
