Minkah Fitzpatrick is already thinking about the day his dream will become reality.
Sept. 9, 2018.
On that day, Fitzpatrick envisions rushing out of locker room at Hard Rock Stadium to a blaring crowd on a Sunday afternoon.
On that day, he will roam the field with the goal of making enough plays on defense to help the Miami Dolphins defeat the Tennessee Titans.
On that day, Minkah Fitzpatrick will officially be an NFL player.

I honestly cannot envision this kid busting ...I've never been so sure of a pick in all my years of fandom (est. 2001)

Agreed. This is as safe a pick as I have seen by the Dolphins ever.

P. Manning was a pretty safe pick if you go back a couple decades, a couple light years.

I was referring to picks the Fins made, but yea Manning was pretty much a sure thing lol

I don't expect a pro bowl season, but I expect him to immediately be an "impact" player.

Sure he will be an impact player but he will affect the entire defense.

The Dolphins haven't been playing with a true FS for quite a while. As a result, our defense has been sub par overall.

Add an blue chip level once in 10 year high football IQ hard working player like Minkah to that position and it will change the dynamic of how the defense will be able to shut teams down. Now we can cover the TE, the deep routes, our CBs have someone who has the speed to cover up top, so now they get more confident and the defensive line can get more coverage sacks.

He will make mistakes but expect him to make big plays as well.

some would have said the same about Leaf coming out of college. No such thing as a sure thing.
I think ppl were assuming a higher ceiling with Leaf, but I don't remember thinking "can't miss", at the time.

You are 100% correct. There are no sure things. There are probabilities though.

true dat. I have a lot of confidence in this pick and doubt Minkah starts committing B&E's for pain killers like Leaf did.

Of course. More so meaning I haven't felt safer with a pick regarding busting in my years of fandom. I know it's a possibility with anyone but I can't fathom MF busting

Imo a devastating injury would be the only thing that could stop Mink from becoming a high level NFL player, if not better....Haven't been this impressed by our 1st round pick in a longgggg time, we got lucky the draft went the way it did. I would not have been nearly as confident in a player like Edmunds or Derwin James and I can say that 100% honestly
