The fins punter struggled all day long with his terrible punts which gave the seahawks good field position all game long which almost cost the fins the game and its time for the fins to look into this problem and try to hire a new punter before this problem costs us a important game.

fields has no hangtime, he consistently shanks punts, he is just as much of a cancer to this return team as those covering the punts.

What??? The problem was our tackling. Our punter is fine. We just need to tackle better

He may not be amazing but every nice return by Seattle was due to a broken tackle. Not the punters fault there.

yea we cant tackle either, but if people could get down there in time to actually cover the returner and not let him pick his lanes it may be a different story. but the lack of tackling is also apparent on kickoff coverage... it is obviously a problem, but fields is not helping our cause either.

I'll say this. I've been impressed with Fields' improvement over the course of the season. I thought he did a good job overall today, as he has the last month or so, and the ST coverage was just ghastly as usual. On one punt, it was a beautiful high flying bomb, and Cobbs whiffed at the 20 and Condren AND Anderson whiffed at the 30. That play is a microcosm of the issue.

That said, there are times when we need a big one and he will just shank it badly, I'm talking 20 or 30 yards total. That cant happen. Its happened twice (I think) this year, once last week and once vs. the Jets.

His last punt today, however, was beautiful. Didnt give the returner a chance to touch it, and it went out of bounds at the 25. But most importantly, our coverage team didnt have to do squat, which is the critical factor on these plays. At least for this ST unit.

Umm, two words express why the Seahawks had good field position on PR......missed tackles. Our ST suck, plain and simple. Of all the positions that need work, the punter is the least of our worries.

Fields is on and off, sometimes he's good, sometimes he's horrible. I'm not personally a fan, but i think we're ok with him.

i would most deffinitely rank fields in the bottom third of the league as far as punters go, he is far too inconsistent. he'll have a great punt here and there and others are just terrible... no hangtime or straight out of bounds. I'm quite sure that I remember a few more than just 2 shanks this season (there was even one today that went just 30 yards), and a whole slew of them last year. he is getting better, but its ridiculous to say that punter is the least of our worries... it is just not as apparent of an issue as other areas.

If we could tackle a returner every once in a while no one would be talking about the punter. We knew what we had in Fields when we drafted him. Big leg but lacks consistency. We might be able to upgrade, but it won't matter unless we actually start covering a kick.

Brandon Feilds is wierd. Sometimes he shanks the punt and we get punished, but other times (like late in the Seattle game) he hits nice long punts. He is just inconsistent. WHo also cant always blame the punter our STs have been doing a poor job of tackling the return man. Still Brandon is just a bit shaky I would give him a little more time. Then we can really see how he fairs
