Haven't seen anyone bring this up, at least not as a dedicated topic, and wanted to see what others thought of it.

I didn't particularly care for it as I thought we were playing well and was afraid of a gimmick play going poorly and shifting momentum. I would like to hope that Wallace intentionally threw it out of bounds but I have a feeling that it was just a poor throw. He certainly doesn't have the arm of Sanu and I for one hope he sticks to just catching the ball and running reverses.

I found this on Reddit, but I'm guessing (hoping) that it was said sarcastically...

Wallace overheard saying "If we can't get the deep ball going, I'll throw them my damn self!"

So do we want to see him doing that more?

Lazor is messing with the Defense Coordinators of the other teams. I don't think that it was just a gimmick.

If it made Wallace, who was griping this week, more happily engaged and involved - in a blowout scenario, it was a small token of appreciation to keep him on the reservation. Would have been great if it worked... but either way, I had no problem with it.

IF it was about keeping Wallace happy then by all means go for it, but if it's not a gimmick then I don't know if I'm ok with it.

Could see another reverse where Wallace keeps it. Makes the defense think twice before they key on him

Struck me as a "Man, deep balls aren't that hard! Even I could throw a deep ball!" "Oh yeah, Mike? Alright, well if we're ever up by 20+ in the 3rd quarter, you'll get your shot."

Releasing some of that QB/WR tension.

Unless Wallace threw it out of bounds deliberatly, I don't like. Receiver was well covered. Could have been an INT if its in play.
But what is done is done and now other teams will at least have to be aware he may throw it.
I don't think we see it again unless the Dolphins are way ahead.

A thought it was down right stupid. That pass was so far out of bounds that there was no chance of anyone in a jersey to even catch it. Even Hartline threw up his hands like "WTH Mike?".

Personally, someone who had a hard time catching the ball yesterday and hanging onto it all while trying to catch nicely thrown TD passes with one hand, has more problems to worry about than crying about the lack of a deep ball...

I enjoyed it...Football is supposed to be fun remember? Plus I think Wallace and Tannehill will have fun joking about it. (Only good for chemistry) He had to have deliberately thrown that ball out of bounds, he knew he wasn't completing that pass lol.

Hartline through his arms up because he was held on the play. Gesturing towards the ref as if to say, "Where's the damn flag" ??

It was a pretty low risk play, their end of the field, but I'm still not a big fan of it. Unless Wallace threw it well in practice AND he intentionally threw it away during the game.

Years ago when near the goal line Miami ran a play on more than one occasion where the RB, probably Tony Nathan, would take the handoff and head to the right and then stop and throw a pass back to QB David Woodley, who went left and into the endzone. I think we scored at least a couple of touchdowns on that play. It would make sense to use a similar play now considering Tannehill is a former WR and very athletic. As long as we have a RB who can throw well enough.

We used to run that play with Marino too, would pick up a solid yard, yard and a half! Kidding of course but that would have been hilarious. By the time Dan got deep the game would have been over.

The Bengals run that play with Dalton and Sanu a few times a year. They've had great success with it. Of course it helps that nobody wants to get close enough to cover that dirty ginger Dalton but it's a good play either way and as you say it's one we should try. Too bad we don't have RB23 in the backfield to throw those passes anymore.

Lazor mentioned it in his presser today saying someone ran the wrong route so the safety stayed back. It probably would have been a pick so mike threw it away.
I like to threaten the other team deep any way we can. If it looks open go for it.
