The Mike Wallace pass interference in OT

I was happy to see RT finally overthrow Wallace. When he wound up to fling it I shouted just throw it beyond Wallace for a change .... and he did.

my gut feeling was it was going to be a little bit out of his reach but it's close enough you have to flag it.

Perfect Pass and would have been a TD for sure.
I don't quite agree with what Newman did, but he quickly realized it would have been a TD, so he only had one way to stop Wallace...PI.
Now, as the drive played out, we didn't score a TD, so that move did work for Cincy.

the penalty on that should be an automatic TD - i guess it was a "good" penalty - great throw though!

When I first saw it I thought it was an overthrow as well. Then the replay showed he would of been in great position to catch it in stride.

You know why that play work?

BECAUSE OF THE RUNNING GAME!!!

It allowed play action to work, because it was a threat all night. Sherman had some blunders, but he dialed up the right play in this situation. We didn't score, but it flipped the field.

Yea my gut feeling was it would have been catchable, but Wallace would not have brought it in. Running full speed like that, it's not easy to bring the ball in if you need to stretch and you're not a hands catcher

agreed...it looked like it was too far out in front of him...but hey they didn't give us the heartline armbar PA so they owe us...

I don't think so either that Wallace would have caught the ball but we will never know. It was a good move by the defender though. He has to go by the assumption that Wallace makes that catch and runs off. There are bad penalties and good penalties. This was definitely a good penalty by the DB.

I believe it was first down deep in our territory. Bengals clearly expecting Miami to run the ball backed up in our own territory. RT made a great hard count to determine Cinnci coverage. I think he audibled to the one on one coverage to Wallace. Great audible by RT or call by Sherman ( you have to give him credit when it may be due).

yea man. That guy was like "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFAWK". I think wallace has had enough of people calling him a 1 trick pony and a bust. He looked good today!

He is a 1 trick pony and a bust. He is a good player, but not for the money he is making.

the flag flying in at the end, in front of the douche who tripped wallace, cracked me the **** up

From my TV, I didn't think Wallace would have made the catch. As it turns out, the PI ended up being a good play for the Bengals since we didn't score.

None of us know whether that pass was going to be caught or not but the PI was undoubtedly intentional. However, the defender must have thought Wallace was going to make that catch and be gone. For the defender, the PI penalty is the lesser of two evils and a better outcome than a TD, thus the open field tackle.

While I'm glad they are trying to open things up once in a while, it's sad that we finally get a call like that and then do nothing to capitalize on the play. It took our Defense and ST's to win this game for us (as predicted). Our offense needs to figure something out very soon. Did we abandon the run game again in the second half despite some success in the first half?? Why??

Yeah, I couldn't quite tell whetherit wwould have been a finger tip catch attempt for Wallace or simply an overthrow. Wallace was accelerating away and his top end speed is ridiculous. He might have gottenthere, but the catch was no guarantee.

The DB had no choice tthough. The Bengals have a great D and we weren't scoring on offense. Wallace had the defense beat and the game won if the DB doesn't tackle him.

I know what you are saying but we did capitalize on the flipped field position we got off that.

Pretty much the situation where strip sack got us beat vs Buffalo, run if you can get a first down, punt and play the situational defense.

I dont think Wallace was gonna catch that ball. He is one of the least fundamentally sound wr in the league ugly to watch. Ben made him
