The worst thing you can tell someone is good job. A head coach is supposed to push his players beyond what is expected of them. This has to be an absolute necessity to be a champion. Why be an average NFL team when you can be the greatest.

Say if Gase told Peyton Manning back in Denver "Wow you are doing a great job" Peyton would probably think "yeah he's right I am doing a great job." This will be the end of story. Peyton would have never achieved his best record setting season of his life under Gase thinking average. He even made Jay Cutler look like a descent QB.

There are two words that are most harmful to someone that wants to be a champion and thats "good job". That is why you got to love Gase as our head coach, he talks smack to all his players to only bring out the best from them.

Examples: Talking smack to Byron Maxwell, calling Suh fat. Even our rookie Tunsil letting Dallas Thomas beat him now for the starting LG spot. Everyone in their right mind knows Dallas Thomas should be a third string at best. What is Tunsil going to do. Work his ass off a little harder in the weight room, study his playbook more, know his assignments inside and out. That is why Suh respects Adam Gase. Suh already wants to be the best that is why he got that massive contract. Now we have to wait and see if Tannehill can rise to the occasion. We already know Gase is going to get the best out of him.

Yet people really think Dallas Thomas may actually start over Tunsil LOL

A lot of people don't know how to read in between the lines.

Situational Leadership is the way. Knowing what needs to be said to each individual. There is no stamp. Sometimes "good job" is what is needed. Gase didn't make Peyton Manning either. I think Gase will be good for Miami, but he isn't a god or anything.

I have never said he is a god, don't know where you got that from. All I am trying to say is, if he can push you to the best of your abilities, good. Read in between the lines.

Can we stop acting like cutler was absolute trash before Gase. Yes he did help him clean up aspects of his game but pretending that cutler was absolute garbage and Gase made him "decent" is a complete fabrication

Are you sure about that?

Cutler was pretty awful for years, he had his most efficient year under Gase w/o Jeffery for half the season.

Cutler was HORRIBLE. up till the start of last season, Chicago couldn't find a trade partner and regretted that contract.

Yes absolutely sure about it. No he wasn't elite but he was better than horrible. He had some bad seasons but cutler always had the talent, more about what's in his head. Glad Gase straightened it out for him but he had good season before him

Agreed contract was bad, but cutler is/ was not horrible. He has stretches of bad play but my argument was he was at least decent before Gase, yes I agree that he has helped him tremendously but cutler wasn't some no talent guy off the streets

Gase or Fox improved him? Fox is more of a defensive guy. Point is, Cutler improved and dealt with a bunch of injuries to their run game. Something to look forward to here

He probably did but Im just curious how Gase's coaching philosophy will translate to the players.

Someone posted an article about Arians and the Cards' culture. I believe that this potentially is being done right now. Think about the head coaches that have been here and the fact that none of them are head coaches anywhere right now. That tells you a ton. I have said earlier that Gase is a smart guy and knows that recently, coaches have come here to end their careers. Gase must be aware of the mistakes those coaches made. I will say this, if we get mediocre qb play this year, that won't be a long-term problem at all. Gase is young and if he gets fired, he wants to be hired again.

Call me crazy but I hope that Gase and the new staff have had a positive effect on Thomas which results in significant improvement from him. It would provide more meaningful competition while possibly increasing his value.
