The Monday Night Win

It was one of the best games of 2004 to US, but to the rest of the country, it was just a meaningless win by a losing team against a team that had already clinched a playoff berth.

Yea I see what your saying, but its strange, because they just showed a game of the Redskins (who at this time had 3 wins and 5 losses and were one of the worst teams in the NFL), and the Seahawks who werent all that good either and the Redskins won. But I see what your saying about how the Pats already clinched a playoff bearth, but it did cause them to lose home-field advantage.

For me the win over New England made my whole year....also our nice win against the St Louis Rams after we were around 0-6....the Welker kick return and Bua's block had me screaming my a$$ off. I doubt ESPN or the NFL Network would show the game again.....they are all Patsie homers!!!:yell:

i live in mexico but i was on vacation (in miami) and i went to that game ,when the dolphins were down by 10 points the people just leave the stadium and i was in shock i coudnt belive it , i think u.s fans arent like mexicans ,with all the respect i think you arent good fans

I hate to say it, but this is true. Most fans here in the US (not all) won't support a losing team. I've been involved in pro soccer for about 10 years and I've seen it happen. I'am proud to say that I'am a die-hard Dolphins fan, if you need proof, come over and I'll watch the 62-7 blow-out to Jacksonville in '99.
It happens in all the sports here in the states, not just football. Thats just the way it is.

I think US fans just really hate traffic

how can u.s fans (not all) think they are fans if they do things like that ,thats the kind of people we dont have in mexico

and what made that win even more sweet is that new england was playing for homefield advantage if im not mistaken? too bad the steelers bombed out on us!!!!

As it turned out the game had no effect on the playoff standings. Pittsburgh had the head to head tiebreaker against the Pats.

We won a home game on Monday night. You're supposed to win a home game on Monday night. I realize we were a huge underdog but no one I watched the game with in Las Vegas was overly surprised. That's the epitome of a pride situation and the NFL is so damn balanced there really isn't anything that qualifies as an unbelievable upset. I don't rank it among the 100 best wins in team history. If we're hanging our hat on a meaningless moment like that this franchise is in a deeper hole than I thought.

yeah, but Miami gave Pittsburgh a boost for home field, because if Miami didn't beat N.E, then N.E would have most likely won the last two games of the season, they had an easier last two games than Pittsburgh. N.E had the jets after that game, the jets are tough, but N.E would have won, and then they had the niners, which is an automatic win, whereas the steelers had Baltimore, a tough team, who gave the steeleres their only loss of the season, and the Bills who were hot during the last couple games, so N.E very well could came up with home field even if the steelers had the tie breaker, without the miami loss N.E would have most likely been 15-1, whereas the steelers had a greater chance of losing one of the games, therefore could've been 14-2, N.E gets home field, but thanks to miami, they gave Pittsburgh some breathing room from N.E, it's too bad the steelers couldn't take advantage of the home field advantage that miami gave them in the championship game

I was wondering, if anyone has seen the Monday night win against the Pats on NFL Networks Game of the Week. I was wondering because I really want to see that game again and wanted to know if they have ever played it on Game of the Week.

P.s. I know they probably played it the day after the game or whatever, but I was wondering if they have showed it anytime after that.

If your desperate to see it again...download the bittorrent of it

You could look at it like that, or you could look at it like this: In our second worst year in franchise history, soon after a mid-season coaching change and total team collpase, we found a way to deafeat the very disciplined defending Super Bowl champions, as well as the best team of that year.

Plus, its not as if NE sent it in, they put up a lot of points, and our patch work offense kept up. Plus our secondary forced Brady to look human. Your meaningless moment was the highest, and maybe only moment of pure joy last year. It was also a sign of the will our team had despite all the crap they had to go through. I want a reason to hope that Miami can overachieve this year, I look to that Monday Night game.

You can try to spin it any way you want. The fact remains Pittsburgh earned homefield advantage with their 15-1 record and there head to head win over the Pats.
