The more I look at our team....

Henne's never been a winner though..and don't give me his college record in the neutered Big 10 conference--his record against OSU is all that matters in that craptastic conference. He's perfected the art of the 6-yard pass, granted--but I'm just not seeing anything that resembles a starting QB on a contender. There's absolutely no evidence.

cmon slick willy, u cant have it both ways.

I agree. We were 7-9 last year lost a close one to a very good Pittsburg team, beat GB, Jets, won a tough road game in Oakland. Beat Minny before they were banged up and reeling. All that with an offense that my 3 year old could have schemed against. Our Defense was good and I have to think it has been improved with maturity and offseason adjustments. I can't see anyway, with a revamped O and a modern play caller with, we don't take a pretty sizeable step forward. I think we will surprise a lot of people, and frankly I am excited.

At least we are guaranteed 3rd in the division. As much as I worry about the fins, I can just look at the Bills depth chart and know we have two wins for sure.

Honestly, this team vividly reminds me of the 2006 Dolphins.

Shut down defense with an exceptional pass rusher and a great inside linebacker and a mastermind for a defense coordinator, a pro-bowl wideout, a underrated slot receiver, a young first round tackle that we expect to erase opposing pass rushers, and a young running back that we hope will be able to carry the load.

Only difference is that year we traded for a former franchise quarterback. This year we hope Henne will become a franchise quarterback. It all does come down to quarterback in this league, and if Henne plays around the same level he did last season our season will fall apart.

Many on this board are preparing for the playoffs and drooling over our roster. Many, myself included, are hoping for a turn around but will not be surprised if we implode. Like that year our defense will prevent us from picking first overall or even around that range. Like that year, our defense will not be able to prevent us from having a losing season.

All Henne has to do is score Td's instead of FG 2-1. This offense will attack instead of play Henning ball u can bet that. If Henne were to be like 20 TD's 12 Int's but our defense actually catches the 15 missed interceptions from last year, and special teams do not screw up on ref basis, this team will win 10 games. book it.

Ok, good for you...now how does that change my previous statement? If mediocrity is what you're shooting for though, then congrats.

We can say Henne will improve because of the lack of Henning, but he still has Sparano who did nothing to help our quarterback last season. In fact, Sparano has thrown Henne under the bus multiple times, including this offseason. Sparano will be more then willing to settle for field goals. He has shown that the past 3 seasons. That certainly wasn't a Henning call.

Our defense could very well improve. But they will not be able to carry this team if Sparano gets cold feet about his quarterback again(and he has already shown this offseason he does have cold feet concerning Henne). We might grab more interceptions, we might have more of a impact. But if Henne doesn't show massive improvements and our run game falls apart, there goes the season. Even if our run game improves, we could very well still have a losing season.

And the petticoat conference Harvard plays in not to mention never having won anything anywhere... conjures up confidence in Fitz? How do you figure that exactly? And don't get me started on Chan as a modern day head coach... this guy was fired by Geo Tech ferchrissake.. this isn't the world football league. So kindly fermez la bush S'il vous plait until your team has any certifiable traction or justification to talk. :idk:

Oh I forgot about your new assistant head coach, Wanny -(been there, done that, uggggh)

maybe he won't get fired from his 3rd gig in row? or maybe he will.

Cool story, bro...only I never exalted Fitz as a great QB and I've definitely never had a kind word for Chan Gailey. Sorry.

yes agreed.. it's absolutely a cool story featuring a team that may or may not have to swim upstream depending on whether its QB can set the time machine controls back 12 months vs another team that is destined to swim upstream based on just about everything aside from their running game .. thanks for confirming... bro

but that's cool, my GF's brother says he'll commit to them if they move closer to his family in Toronto, and a few buddies scattered around SoCal also are anxious to root for them. So this is an upside.

You're hired to get fired... that's just the way it is. However, at least Chan Gailey could get a head coaching job at a major D-1 university. I gurantee you Tony Sparano couldn't get one...

It ain't as easy to recruit and compete week in/week out, year in/year out with the big boys of college football as you think. Especially with the academic standards at one of the leading engineering schools in the country like Georgia Tech...
