The happier I get. Seriously. My reasons:

-Ireland's comment that Martin should "punch" Icognito will be his final undoing in Miami. We WILL have a new GM for 2014.

-If this locker room wasn't united before, the way Martin has handled this has only insured that it is now. Every Dolphin that speaks sounds mad as hell and has the back of not only Incognito, but all of their teammates as well.

-Before the incident, I was starting to worry Philbin may have lost this team. Cam Wake's comments made me do a complete 180 on that opinion.

-Tannehill's interview last night served notice that this is his team. Couldn't be more proud of how he handled himself and I'm sure that will go a long way in the locker room as well.

-The media has given this team the mindset that it is "The World Vs The Miami Dolphins". This team just gutted out a win over one of the top 3 teams in the AFC last week, their pissed off, and they are as unified as ever.

Let eat the media and Martin continue on with their tabloid party. This team has a 2nd half of a season to play and I think they're more than ready!

I think they'll band together and fight for one another. I just hope they listen to Philbin now and don't go rogue with the media again.

Those interviews are on the team's official website. PR guys were standing right there when they gave the interviews and said NOTHING.

Gone rogue my ass.

Philbin told them to defer all questions about the investigation to him and Starks even alluded to that in his interview.
They wanted to stand up for themselves yesterday and they did. Today they're back to the normal routine and not taking those type of questions.

I hear ya! but what if they go 9-7 and get a playoff birth, then what do you do about Ireland?

Hey at least I get to hear some Dolphin mentions on a few of my comedy podcasts.

some dude called into Adam Carolla regarding a football player in Mississippi that needed toughening up (kinda spaced out the caller was boring).. Artie Lange told the caller that if you want to toughen him up, lock him in a room with a bottle of whiskey and Richie Incognito.. caught me off guard, i lol'd...

Darlington reported that Hartline said there was no gag order, that they were told to speak their minds, and Philbin just said he told the guys to be honest. We can put to rest this gag order rebellion nonsense.

"We were at a point where we weren't told to say anything. We weren't going to talk. There's an investigation. Plain and simple. You guys expected that," receiver Brian Hartline said. "And now we're able to say our opinion and really protect ourselves from being bullied by [the media] because we weren't talking. Nobody said a word. We weren't fighting back. There were no comments from Richie. There were no comments from us. And we just sat back and listened to it a couple of days.

"And we got kind of tired of it. We got to the point, and you guys can judge, but it caught us all off guard and it's a shame it happened."

[Update: The players were told to get back on message today. "We've been told to only talk about Tampa Bay," guard Nate Garner said. Also ... As I've portrayed the players deciding on their own to defend a teammate even against Philbin's orders as as a sign of solidarity, a source that is close to this issue called me and said it something different: "A mutiny." I am sharing that now because, as with everything in this Incognito-Martin story, there are multiple sides.]

Obviously they made the statements against Philbin's wishes.

Also In Philbin's presser today he said multiple times that, "the players' comments stand on their own" meaning that their opinions don't reflect that of the coaches or organization.

Playoffs or not, Ireland is gone. The fact that Martin's agent reached out to Jeff the day before Martin left the team and Ireland's solution was to suggest physical violence, he sealed his own fate. Not only that, I think if Ireland would have been more proactive during that phone call, this story might not even be happening.

Salguero is reporting that they went rogue and staged a mutiny.

Uh if you could read past your bold you'll also see he says, "and now we're able to say our opinion." Way to ignore other facts to drive your point home Schefter.

So obviously they did not. Add in what Hartline said about no gag order, Darlingtons report, the fact that these interviews are up on MiamiDolphons.com, and Philbin also saying today he told the men to be honest. C'mon.

Way to also infer your own meaning into what Philbin meant by the comments stand on their own. In the same conference he said he believes in the men in his locker room. So we could as irresponsibly infer that those comments stand on their own as strong comments against this media slandering. Infer anything really.

They're saying their opinions because the players came together and decided to get the truth out.
No way Philbin wants the players comment on the investigation and in today's presser Philbin's answers regarding yesterdays player comments is very telling.

All that's telling is your assumption.

As is yours. We both see it a different way. I'm just going off of what they have said directly. For me Philbin's comments in his interview today shows that he didn't sanction it and didn't see it coming.
