The more you hear Philben speak, the more you have to like this hire

VERY impressed thus far with Philbin. Humble, no ego, just wants to flat out teach his players how to play and win

I personally think Philbin did very well in the press conference and I am genuinely optimistic about him.

He seems like a great man. I'm excited about this hire.

I have to admit, I was not excited about the hire. Didn't hate it, but wasn't excited. But I was impressed with what he had to say and how he said it. Hope he's the answer we've been looking for.

Maybe it's because I'm a homer but I'm excited by what I just saw and heard at the press conference. Dignity, integrity and intelligence. He's earned three seasons from me.

Here's what I liked in this press conference:

He doesn't just want to run an aggressive offense, he wants the team to be aggressive on defense and special teams. That's something this team has really been lacking for a while, IMO. Our special teams haven't really made an impact for the team (outside of punting) since we lost Mike Westhoff and I'd love to see a defense that actually produces some turnovers.

I get the feeling that he is not a guy who will coach scared or coach not to lose, and that's something to look forward to.

I have a feeling Philbin is going to do GREAT things for the Dolphins. I'm ecstatic. Can't wait for training camp.

I loved everything he said. I'm excited. Too bad it's only January.

I havent heard him yet and I cant find the PC. Can someone please provide a link?

Reminds me of a year ago when Al Golden was such a welcome upgrade from Randy Shannon and his awkward butchering of the language.

I'd prefer a bit more ego from Philbin. Actually, quite a bit more. That's why Harbaugh was the greatest hire in decades. You knew you'd get moments like the back slap in Detroit. Every coach should emulate the late '80s Canes, with a 5 man dance after every tackle. Now that was football.

havent seen the video yet as im on vacation and dont have lots of free time.

i think about philibin in this. i am all for giving him a chance as he deserves one, and i am hopeful he will turn around our franchise in a positive way

The one thing i am slightly worried about is now we will overpay for flynn because we have philbin. i hope ireland and ross do not do so.

other than that, i am happy about philbin and i am hopeful he will be our coach for a long time.

Are you kidding me? Philbin has watched Flynn every single day in practice. If Philbin wants Flynn, then you go get him for whatever he costs.

thats great, plenty of qbs look good in practice who cares.

i have also, along with tons of nfl fans seen flynn play, and he is nothing better than average. obviously philbin understands the qb position better than any nfl fan, but he also may want him slightly due to the relationship he has with him. also, just because philbin wants flynn if he does, that does not mean flynn would come here for nothing. they would still need to pay him big money, money that even the best qbs in the nfl today didnt make until they proved they were worth it, not based on 1 game.

tom brady didnt get a big contract like flynn will want after 1 great performance, u need to earn it, and im sorry, despite everyone hyping because it happened in the last game of the year so thats the last memory of him, does not mean he is good.

i am hoping dan snyder outbids us for him so we do not finish 7-9 8-8 for the next 5 years
