I don't know if Cam is consciously carrying out a recruit LDS(Mormon) player strategy, but I find it interesting that with the draft and UFA's coming in this year, Miami now has 7 Mormons on their roster.
Beck
Denney
Esera
Fifita(NFL Europe Squad)
Mauia
Satele
Soliai
The LDS church is huge amongst the Polynesian communities, and the church has a Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii. I remember when I was a little kid and my family converted from Roman Catholic to LDS. We lived in Southern Cal at the time, and I thought it was cool when the bishopric (local parish-like leadership consisting of 4 members) would come in. 2 of the 4 were Poly's, and they would come to church wearing lava lava's, sandals with White short sleeve shirts and ties.)
If this trend continues, in another 3 seasons, they will have to set up a special Miami Dolphins Ward (parish) for the players, their wives and of course all the kids. Now wouldn't that be something. The LDS do not have a paid ministry which means that the lay members are called to leadership positions. Any of the guys on the team could be called to serve as a bishop, elders quorum president, etc etc.
LOL, I could imagine Satele on the side line talking to Beck during a timeout: Hey John, we in the bishopric have prayed about it, and we would like to call you to serve as a teacher in primary teaching the 5 year old class. Oh and tell your wife we would like her to bake cookies for the youth dance this Friday. Bwahaha. :sidelol:
