As a Dolfan, there is a lot to be encouraged about to this point in the season:

1) The play of some of our rookies - I have been thrilled to see the hard work and determined play by some of our rookies on this team...Langford, Merling and of course, Long are all well ahead of where I would have expected them to be at this point in the season.

2) Ronnie Brown - I don't really need to explain this one any more do I?

3) Our Offensive Line - did you see how we pushed the ball down the field to end the game against the Chargers...plus Pennington is finding himself with a good amount of time to find his receivers.

4) Our Defense - Yes, we had a horrible game against the cardinals...but in the other 3 games I have been very impressed with this defensive core. Even with the Cards game in the mix...we currently have a top 10 defense in the league right now.

I could go on with more encouraging signs, but I want to get to the one that I think is the most encouraging thing about this team so far...

Our Coaching Staff - I think everyone on here would agree that the Patriots were out coached by our staff, and Norv Turner pretty well said that the chargers were out coached by the dolphins. Going back several years, most of us couldn't stand Wandstache as a coach, we had high hopes for Nick Saban, only to have him high tail it out of here in no time, Cam comes in and obviously did not fair so well in that single season efort he had...and now Parcells comes in and brings in Sporano and I have to say, I like what I see so far. This is an aggressive, creative, hard nosed coaching staff. Both on the offensive and defensive sides of the football, our coaches seem to be leaving our opponents scratching their heads...I LOVE THIS!!!

Go Fins!

When a Miami Dolphins QB drops back to pass I am not automatically thinking INT or Sack anymore :woot:

I am encouraged by the improvement in play from the fist few weeks to the next few. We went from giving up 6 sacks in 2 games to 1 sack in 2 games. From giving up over 25 pts/game in first 2 to giving up under 12 in the next 2.

Don't forget "Money" Penny averaging around 80% completion rate these past to games. He had 50% in AZ and 60.5% against NYJ.

Yeah, I noticed this too. I even have this confidence in Pennington that whenever he throws it out quickly (you know, without hesitating), I am automatically thinking "completion". That's weird. Since that 2000 campaign I had forgotten how that feels......

I am encouraged that our couching staff is DEVELOPING talent...so many years we picked up or drafted guys and never properly developed them. These rookies will be STUDs and all the younger people we brought in. Torbor, Akin, Starks, Anderson, Smiley will get better as well

As weird as this may sound, I am definitely encouraged by our receiving corp especially camarillo and fasano. They haven't dropped many balls this season so far.

I think before the Chargers game I read here that we had not a single drop. But I believe I remember one drop in the Chargers game. Don't know who it was though, maybe Fasano?

Yes I read the same thing, Camarillo hasn't had a drop and Fasano dropped one in the Chargers game but nonetheless that is pretty darn impressive.

I love the fact that our rookies and second year players are making big plays. Langford, merling, ginn, satele, long are all playing with and its showing.

I was very critical of the coaching staff early on so I take every opportunity to applaud the job they have done in the past 2 games, provide a little ying to that yang. I have been impressed at how they have managed to get the most out of these players... They are all clearly gelling very well as a team and most are playing above their ability...

Porter and Holiday look like little kids and at the end of the Chargers game the phins looked like a college team the way they celebrated... It is obvious they believe in the system, the coaches and eachother... This is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT coaching and instilling an attitude.

Win lose or draw they are fun to watch and this effort is making me proud. Thanks Boys!

I gotta say Pennington has been very impressive. Remember this guy is suppose to be the lame duck armed QB that everyone will stack the box on and stop our running game. This guy is a true NFL QB, his arm may be one of the weakest in the league but boy can he pinpoint a pass. The swagger that he brought to this team has been one of the biggest addition noone seems to mention.

Agreed, Pennington has just made good decisions with the ball. Even if that means not being able to chuck it down field. Ive noticed this season we have been looking at more 3rd and short situations rather then 3rd and long like last season. We have been moving the ball very nicely and our defense especially the secondary stepped up in the Chargers game.

For me the most encouraging things about this season are 1) the obvious choice the o-lines development!!! 2) the play of the Bell and Hill as the starting safeties 3) the balls to bring in pennington knowing he was EXACTLY what the team needed at QB 4) the contributions from several rookies 5) the health of ronnie brown, i for one NEVER thought he'd be this healthy so soon 6) the physical nature on both sides of the ball and last but not least 7) the maturation of carey and crowder allowing themself to be in position to sign long term deals and stay in miami!!!!
