The Most Famous Athletes Never To Have Won A Championship Ring....

Before clicking on the article Im guessing C.Barkley and D.Marino are both top 5 if not top 3. There are quite a few football players to choose from though, Barry Sanders never won one right?

Actually I bring you right to the Dan Marino slide however they have him as the 16th slide out of 30. Not sure of the significance.

The splendored splinter, Ted Williams

It's alphabetical.

The fact that three of my favorite players on two of my favorite teams (Marino, Barkley, Iverson) are on this list may explain my deep-seated angst.

I haven't looked at that list yet but I'm pretty sure Ernie Banks is in it. So is probably Alan Page and Gale Sayers. Pat Ewing too.

Ok, I just looked at that list and Allan Page is not in it? You've gotta be kidding. Probably the best DT to ever play next to Joe Green should be on that list unless he won and I didn't noticed?

Funny you point that out. Iverson is my favorite NBA player of all time, Marino is without question my favorite athlete of all time. I wasn't as big a fan of Barkley the player as I am Barkley the person. He's crazy but brutally honest. I wasn't a Sixers fan during Barkley's tenure, I was a pathetic Bulls fan like every other kid who grew up in the 80's.

I was at game 3 of the 2001 NBA finals. AI almost carried that team to a title single handedly against a juggernaut roster in LA.

I would've loved to have watched Allen Iverson on the football field. His physical talents we're better suited for basketball obviously but you could see the football mentality he brought to the hardwood.

I am not going to talk about Dan Marino. Don't need to. This is Finheaven.com. We all feel the same, nuff said.

Barkely and Marino my two favorite. Barkely would have won with that Phoenix team with better coaching. Westpaul was terrible. Marino would have won if Shula wasn't so stubborn and loyal by keeping Olivadotti. He was terrible.

Iverson was a QB in high school and he once said he was the best QB in the state. Of course high school and the NFL are too different things but he was very talented

I Karl Malone wins a couple rings he's probably consider a top 2 PF and a top 10 all time player.

Crazy how the 2 dominant WR's of the late 90's early 2000's Moss and Owens didn't even get 1 championship between them.

IF Ken Griffey Jr didn't have so much injuries he probably ends up the all time home run king. What a shame, what could have been.

It still irks me a little that the goofy Eli Manning has 2 rings & Marino doesn't have one . Oh well. IMO if Marino ever had a good /dominant or even decent defense during his career he probably would have had several. I was only a kid when Marino was the Fins' QB & recall him always having to carry the team cause the Defenses sure as hell couldn't stop anyone.

Sometimes the Gods smile on one and not the other, whether you agree or not, Marino can be considered to be the greatest QB off all time and has no ring, while a journeyman like John Sally has 4 with three different teams.

Hell, Moss and Owen are in the discussion as top 5 at their position all time.

I believe Marino played on some of the worst playoff teams in history. Without him, many of those teams that he took to the playoffs would have been at the bottom of the division or close to it.
