I think the draft pick who has to play well out of the gate is either Soliai, or Booker. I say this because of the role they play on our team for this season. Both players are the primary backup for their positions. (RB, NT) Traylor won't make it through the whole season, you can bet on that. Ronnie Brown has to spelled at some point, and after Booker I have no idea who the third back is. I have not put Ginn in the mix b/c he is not the primary backup at WR, and if he doesn't play well at that spot it doesn't kill our WR play completely (big chunk missing if he gives us very little) and he can add in the return game.

Just trying to come up with something other than how important is it for Ginn to be effective early. Just an opinion to get a debate started.

So ur jus sayin we need booker n soliai to do good this season?

Satele is the most important pick for this season imo.

the most important pick is beck for the future but this season it is kind of satale

It doesn't really matter "who" people think is the most important draft pick of this year, one inescapable fact remains:

If Ted Ginn, Jr. doesn't produce... the wasted pick will set us back for years.

1st round busts tend to completely taint an entire draft.

The most important pick has to be Beck. We havnt drafted a QB with potential for a long time and he really means alot to this team.

Which for me, supports my theory on Ginn. Ginn was selected while Brady was still on the board. The Brady/Ginn comparison could become an argument for years to come.

I really hope that Ginn pans out because we will always be laughed at for making that mistake if he doesnt. It will be like taking Culpepper over Brees we will never hear the end of it.

how about every player is important that we drafted, we got a quarterback for the future, a solid prospect at nose tackle, a beast of a center, an agile and fast running back and wide receiver, not to mention the special teams aspect of that, a guy in abraham wright who has impressed thus far, we have the other 2 somoans esera and mauia, a punter who will come in and start for us, depth at center/guard with mormino, and depth at linebacker with kelvin smith, what isn't to like about this draft?

I think Satele is THE most important player in terms of playing well out of the gate.

He is starting from day 1. Except for Satele and Fields, every other draft pick has a veteran ahead of them on the depth chart (Traylor, Ronnie, Chambers/Booker, TGreen, CoryS)... and Fields is just a punter. Satele will be playing EVERY down on his side of the ball... unlike Ginn, Booker, Beck, Soilai, Reagan, Mormino (w/ Satele), AWright, and KSmith.

AND... he plays a very important position on the offensive line. Its Satele... hands down. He is going to be critical to our success...

This would be a good poll. I'd have to go with Satele though. However good the oline is, that's how good our team will be and Satele will have a big role on our o-line.
