Here are my conditions:

It's doable.

But there cannot be anymore losses like the one to Buffalo against a clearly inferior opponent.

1. Tampa Bay - Absolutely must win. If they lose this game the whole thing is out the window.

2 and 3. Win at least 1 game out of the following San Diego/Carolina duo. Preferably SD, obviously.

4. Beat an inferior Jets team with a rookie QB. Again, this is not negotiable.

5. Beat a reeling Steelers team that sports Big Ben, Antonio Brown, and a sack of potatoes at all other positions.

6. Let's be real, we're probably going to lose to New England again. That's going to be 1 of the 2 allowed losses in the plan.

7. Beat a horrible Buffalo team for real this time.

8. Beat an inferior Jets team with a rookie QB, again, to cap off the year.

This seems reasonable to me, but again, the major rule being we cannot lose to a team we are better than. Which admittedly, we are not very good at.

All sounds doable to me. But they've had a ton of doable wins in the past and always failed so we'll see what happens.

These are the games left:

Mon, Nov 11 @ Buccaneers 8:40 PM (ET)
Sun, Nov 17 vs. Chargers 1:00 PM (ET)
Sun, Nov 24 vs. Panthers 1:00 PM (ET)
Sun, Dec 1 @ Jets 1:00 PM (ET)
Sun, Dec 8 @ Steelers 1:00 PM (ET)
Sun, Dec 15 vs. Patriots 1:00 PM (ET)
Sun, Dec 22 @ Bills 1:00 PM (ET)
Sun, Dec 29 vs. Jets 1:00 PM (ET)

We are 4-4 now. I think we beat the Buccs on MNF because they are in shambles.

5-4.

We will drop a game at home to either the Chargers or Panthers, possibly both, but I will say we beat the Chargers due to the time difference and lose to the Panthers due to CAM.

6-5.

@ the Jets is always tough, and doubly tough in December. I am not sure where this lies on the Geno Smith rollercoaster trajectory, but let's just say he is on the ON mode. Jets win.

6-6.

@ Steelers is tough no matter what, but that team is old and beat up. Wallace should be motivated, so I see a win.

7-6.

Patriots in Miami is a winnable game. But Bellichick has coached circles around Philbin, and I dont see that trend stopping. Patriots complete the sweep.

7-7.

@ Bills? In December? Man, I would love to say this is a win, but history says otherwise. And if we could drop to them at home with Thad Lewis, we can lose there with EJ starting. Dolphins lose.

7-8.

Home vs. Jets. The season is already over, so it could go either way really. But let's just say the Jets have a chance to make the post season by winning this game. The Jets will get all Jetsy and choke. Dolphins win.

8-8.

Yay, everyone's fired! (hopefully)

We lose to the Pats, we should win all the rest. I'll give in a loss somewhere to a team we should beat. That makes 6-2 the second half. 10-6 on the season. I had before the season picked us to go 9-7. I still believe anything less than 9 wins should be a pink slip for Ireland.

We can win EVERY game and run the table if you look at the schedule. New England, SD, and Carolina are tough but they play in Miami. I think the other teams are all at .500 or worse. Just take it a week at a time.

Win all the home games, win the Tampa game then we just need one win out of the Pitts, NYJ, Buff road games.

Do-able only if they're able get the offense worked out.

So funny how everyone on this site thought we were garbage after the last couple weeks losses, and now we are going 10-6.

Outside of the Bucs, none of these games are sure wins. The Bills and the Pats beat us already and the Jets always step up.......division games are always toss ups.

And as long as Big Ben and Philip Rivers are behind center, they are capable of winning any game. And we should be very concerned about the Carolina game, as that team is on the up.

To be honest, we are right where we thought we would be.......at .500. I know I thought the Bills would be a lay up and the Falcons would beat us.
