Ok I understand that we have the 'hardest' schedule this upcoming season. What I don't get is why everyone is saying that will be our demise. Every team in the AFC East has the same exact schedule this year besides two games.

Mia plays SD 8-8 and Pitt 12-4 (20-12)
NE plays Bal 11-5 and Den 8-8 (19-13)
NY plays Oak 5-11 and Cin 4-11 (9-22)
Buf plays KC 2-14 and Cle 4-12 (6-26)

While this years schedule 'may' hurt our chances at winning a first round bye and we 'may' not get as many wins as last year. I don't see how it hurts our chances at winning the east again.

Besides the fact that teams change so much from year to year I think there is way to much put on this stat anyway. The Steelers supposedly had the hardest schedule last year and somehow managed to win the Super Bowl. (not that I think we are there yet, but soon)

As far as the Brady return I'm not sure that the offence was the reason for the NE drop off anyway. And who knows if he will be the same player he was before. I also think we have made a lot of quite and obvious off season moves that has made us a MUCH improved team for 2009.

I don't see SD as a problem. Pitt may have the division locked up and we might be playing their truck drivers. The rest of the division doesnt have it too rough either. NE will beat both their opponents and the Jets probably will as well as Buffalo.

Unless the Fins Fans come strong, that game in January against the Steelers is going to be like semi-home game for the Steelers. They travel VERY WELL and who in their right mind (that can afford it) wouldnt rather be in Miami than Pittsburgh that time of year. Anyone remember being at the MNF game against the Eagles a few years ago in December?? Ive never felt like a stranger in our own building more than on that night.

Lets just go and kick some *** and show the leauge Miami is ready to make that jump and be contenders.

IMO, It's not so much that we have a hard schedule this year....as it is that we had such an easy schedule last year. We were able to rack up a 7-1 record against the AFC and NFC West divisions.....it will be very hard to do as well this year against the South divisions.

Add Tom Brady to the mix, TO to the mix....and you see why many expect us to have less wins than in 2008....even if we did improve.

And since Tom Brady makes the Patriots the odds on favorites to win the division (don't agree that they are...win lots of money in Vegas)....our tough schedule does make a WC more difficult.

I agree with what your saying and I mentioned I didn't think we would win as many games this year. I just don't think the other teams in the east will either. But your right there will be no WC coming out of our division this year so it's just like last year win the East or go home. I just think we improved ourselves more then the Pats and even with a healthy Brady we can pull it out. As I said, I don't think the qb was the Pats problem last year.

i am so sick of the so called experts saying we won because a soft schedule with the afc and nfc west, why we went 7-1 agaisnt them, ne was also 7-1 the bills where 6-2 and the jets where a surprising 3-5, yet they are favorite to win more games then us when they could not beat that easy schedule

I only care about how the Phins play. Nothing else literally matters. Not anything said, typed or printed from any source in the entire world. It is all up to the Miami Dolphins.

the steelers did have the toughest schedule last season, i think they played 6 playoffs teams if i'm not mistaken. the media is going to look at it whatever way they want, besides two games(fins lost both anyways) everyone else in the division played the same schedule as us, unfortunately for the media the team that did come out on top was the only one not from the northeast.

Strength of schedule is just pre-season fodder in my opinion....I mean seriously....everybody was saying with last year schedule we would be lucky to have won 5 games at best....and look how that turned out.

I have to disagree with the SD part. Playing the colts on monday night and then the extra travel day to the west coast to play the chargers the next week makes the SD game as close to unwinable as a game in the NFL can be. Satistically speaking, combining a west coast game directly after a monday night game is vegas's idea of easy money. Look it up and see how many games are won under those conditions. That is not even taking into account how much better the chargers can be this year.

With Shawn Merriman back to full strenght I can see the chargers as having the best record in the AFC. Not completely sold on their coaching staff but on paper that team is loaded talentwise.

We get up to play our best and win the chargers game after playing the 1st monday night game at home since the cival war against the historically great colts and that would be saying something. (BTW I think we can win the colts game which will only make it harder to win the SD game). JMO
