Ok I understand that we have the 'hardest' schedule this upcoming season. What I don't get is why everyone is saying that will be our demise. Every team in the AFC East has the same exact schedule this year besides two games.
Mia plays SD 8-8 and Pitt 12-4 (20-12)
NE plays Bal 11-5 and Den 8-8 (19-13)
NY plays Oak 5-11 and Cin 4-11 (9-22)
Buf plays KC 2-14 and Cle 4-12 (6-26)
While this years schedule 'may' hurt our chances at winning a first round bye and we 'may' not get as many wins as last year. I don't see how it hurts our chances at winning the east again.
Besides the fact that teams change so much from year to year I think there is way to much put on this stat anyway. The Steelers supposedly had the hardest schedule last year and somehow managed to win the Super Bowl. (not that I think we are there yet, but soon)
As far as the Brady return I'm not sure that the offence was the reason for the NE drop off anyway. And who knows if he will be the same player he was before. I also think we have made a lot of quite and obvious off season moves that has made us a MUCH improved team for 2009.
