I know most of you think the NBA is legit, but it is nothing but a sham organized by David Stern, who is attempting to market this product around the world.

Look back at all the evidence, and then you decide:

1. The 1985 NBA Draft - Patrick Ewing of Georgetown was clearly the greatest player in college basketball. Back then they did not have a ping pong lottery ball system like today. The Commish (David Stern) placed envelopes onto a stand. Despite the fact that the NY Knicks had the lowest percent chance to win the overall pick, "suprisingly" David Stern knew that the Knick's logo was in the envelope with a bent corner. GM Dave DeBusschere tries to look surprised that the Knicks got the first pick. Check out the bent envelope corner around the 5:35 mark below. Patrick Ewing was supposed to bring back the glory days to the Big Apple. You can see the fixed draft lotto for yourself on YouTube:

2. Kevin McHale trading away Kevin Garnett - was total robbery by the Celtics. McHale traded one of the best 25 players ever...at the prime of his career.....for Jefferson (a free agent in a couple years), one year of Gomes (a free agent in '08, when he'll be leaving treadmarks on his way out of Minnesota), a harmless pick, and a do-over for a pick he never should have traded, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliffe, and Sebastian Telfair...all scrubs. Of course there was no collusion between McHale and Danny Ainge, "wink, wink" and David Stern was more than happy to sign off on this swindle.

3. Seattle "giving" Ray Allen to the Celtics -
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3080
Ray Allen from the Seattle Supersonics for Delonte West, Wally Szczerbiak and the rights to the 2007 NBA Draft's No. 5 overall pick -- Georgetown forward Jeff Green. Boston also got the rights to the Sonics' 35th pick -- LSU's Glen Davis

Another lopsided deal. Seattle makes this stupid deal, and in return, Seattle was assured of little resistance from David Stern and the NBA in moving the franchise to Oklahoma City.

4. Pau Gasol traded to the Lakers -
Classic case of one franchise bending over to allow another franchise to have its way. Awesome. What did the Memphis Grizzlies get out of this?? Cap relief and little else.

The Celtics and Lakers are now basically assured of playing in the NBA Finals. David Stern wants nothing more than the NBA to return to it's Glory Days, when Magic Johnson and Larry Bird were battling it out every year in the Finals. If you think that anyone besides these two franchises has a shot at an NBA title, than you also believe the WWE is legit. It's all fixed, but you go ahead and believe otherwise.

The NBA is fixed because there was a ref who was fixing games. NOT because of anything you listed

Baloney (although that Heat/Mavs series gave me pause at the time). As for your trade scenarios, they mean nothing. How about Moses going to Philly? Magic to the Lakers? Barkley to Phoenix? Lopsided transactions have always been part of the NBA, as it is in any sport.

You think the NBA would rather have had Duncan in Boston or S.A.? Boston had the best position in the lottery but lost him.

That would explain the Spurs 4 titles in 9 years.....They wanted a small-market,no "superstar" team to win the titles because...They loooove San Antonio...Im inclined to disagree.

However,I do question the Gasol, trade, and I dont even need to go back into the history of the Laker organization trades.....

Some stuff makes you second guess.

Memphis got to make money instead of losing money next year. That what they got of the trade for Gasol.

What other trade in lakers history would you question???

Youve seen all my thoughts on the other site...Im too tired to type right now.Maybe I'll copy and paste it later.

I'm sure David Stern enjoys having the biggest market being the laughing stock of the NBA. Al Jefferson is a budding star in the league. He's not KG but by the time they're able to compete KG won't be the same player he is. They could miss the playoffs with him or without him.

Teams want cap space so they can go out and get free agents and not pay the luxury tax. Seattle plays in a dump of an arena and does not want to build a new one. It's a better market than OK City but if the owner can get out of the lease let him move the team.

If the NBA were fixed than why the hell would the Spurs be the model franchise? They don't draw ratings in the finals. Stern would consistently want teams like New York, LA, Boston, Chicago going far in the playoffs.

The reversed call that was bogus in the Indy/Pitt game a few years ago seemed far more obvious than any of the examples listed.

Although I wouldn't totally discount the idea of Stern being behind such trades, I really don't see how he would be the instigator. Like you mentioned the McHale-Ainge and the Jerry West-LA connections were enough. When you're trying to sell a team like the Grizzlies owner is, you're not trying to throw it out on the market with contracts such as Gasol's. You want the lowest possible contract #s and as many picks as possible. That's essentially what Memphis got out of the deal.

It's no secret that the NBA does really well when their big market teams(like LA and Boston) win. But everything was done by the rules, so why would Stern not sign off on it?

every team had an equal shot at that time... notice it was one envelope per team... they didn't have the lowest percent chance, all teams had the same chance...

Al Jefferson is a future superstar in this league, **** if he was on another team he already would be... hes 9 years younger than Garnett and averaged 21 and 11 last year... Garnett 19 and 9 (note im not saying hes better than garnett, just saying he produced plenty for the Wolves)... the wolves were going nowhere with Garnett and had to move his big salary to be able to rebuild the team...

this deal is not lopsided at all... the number 5 pick in a great draft to get Jeff Green is huge... getting him and Durant basically started the rebuilding process hardcore... again if the Sonics had Ray Allen would this year have been any different? Allen is 33 years old, and the team is 3-4 years away from contention... id rather have Jeff Green in 4 years than Ray Allen

4. Pau Gasol traded to the Lakers -

cap relief is HUGE... especially for a small market team...

:rolleyes2:

I don't believe it's fixed. Some guys get more calls (LeBron) and some teams make trades that make you wonder (Lakers) but I don't think it's a scam.

So Boston vs L.A. is guaranteed huh? Thanks, I'll just sleep in a chamber until November since the Finals are already decided

Exactly what i came on to post.

The LEAGUE IS FIXED!!!!!

We have a ref who proved it and is going to jail over it.

None of the reasons above though are the reasons why its fixed. The ref in the orange jump suit going away for a long time is the reason its fixed!!!
