now think about this what if the dolphins could get ahold of wes welker, because he not the star of the team in NE but can still make great plays and he would be cheaper than boldin and would be just as much or even more of a help to the dolphins

he just got injured. he will be out the whole next season. it's basically the same injury brady had. so why would we try to get welker back?

ACL and MCL were just busted. He's great, leading the league in receptions, but aside from this being a longshot I would rather invest time and money into someone younger.

He might not even be ready at the start of next season.

Him before the injury, that's a whole different story.

ok get him now when noone wants him then when hes ok we have an NFL superstar..... duh........ agree?

This guy is Brady's right hand man. He always gets 100 rec i doubt he would do that with us. They depend on this guy too much. You think they will give him up? And to a division rival (thier biggest threat in the division) I dont think so

yeah i agree and hear what you are saying. but the pat's WILL NOT let him go. and definitely not back to us. the pats aren't that stupid. they are the ones that stole him away from us in the first place. i don't care what anyone says, the 2nd and 7th they gave us was a STEAL for them!!

Why would Welker want to come back to Miami after he wanted to leave in the first place and play for New England? Besides, after the trashed the Dolphins after he left, I doubt many fans would welcome him back with open arms.

One more thing, we would have to change our offense for Welker to put up the kind of numbers he is putting up in NE. He was never effective as an outside receiver but has excelled in the slot in the spread offense. Do you actually see the Dolphins going to this type of spread offense with our present cast of receivers?

Only because Cam & Mueller couldn't draft worth a damn.

Wes Welker is the classic example of why you don't make inter division trades. I was pissed when they gave him up but going to NE was the dumbest mistake made in the Spielman/Cameron year.

After Cam & Mueller bungled by giving Welker a 2nd round tender instead of a 1st (the difference of about $500K in pay), they had no choice but to trade Wes to NE.

Welker had already turned down every offer the front office made to resign him so they were left with free agent tender offer thinking they could match whatever offer came his way. Unfortunately, NE put in that "Poisin Pill" and the rest is history.

He wouldnt put on nearly as good of numbers in Miami. In NE he has RANDY MOSS drawing all the coverage. He is also a slot receiver and i think we already have enough of those.
