The newtimes logo (modified) w/ helmet

Here is a very rudimentary version of what I'd like to see in the event somebody decides change is necessary...

I'd like to have the Dolphin lower on the sun, but that is beyond my simple paint capabilities. Yes, I just changed the colors and the tail on the helmet that somebody mocked up with the long tailed Dolphin.

That's not too bad, although I'm not sure it would look to good with the aqua jerseys.

I'd have to see it together to know for sure, but the Seahawks uniform/helmet combo seem similar and work for me. They'd have to get the right aqua color and may have to change from the current shade, but I'd trust them to work it out. If the aqua jerseys do look bad, I wouldn't mind going to orange "home" jerseys with the white "away" ones.

That could work. But I think I would prefer to stay with the current helmet/logo. IMO it's not that bad.

I agree, but I'm taking this talk for what it is worth -- it's a bunch of football-fevered fans shooting the crap. Nothing is going to come of it. We'll have either the current Dolphin or the one Shula had, and we'll like it. :)
 
Holy Cow Manuer!

Well that New Times contest should certainly put the logo debate to rest. They took individuals and creative agencies designs and none are near as good let alone better than the one we have. Some are downright scary bad!

I would'nt hire Gouthier Design to paint the inside of my septic tank after seeing theirs. It looks like a Dolphin being attacked by flesh eating amoebas.

How about the Propeller Branding's Indian Dolphin with the star on it's forehead. I don't know why they didn't include a Turban to replace the helmet. :lol: Terrible.

The one the New Times picked has an eel tail... :rolleyes:

We have a great logo and hopefully everyone can just enjoy it and put the subject to rest.
 
Whats the problem with our logo?
We have an awesome logo, hard to dispute it, as one of the best in the league, and we really should have the sense, to realize that.
Nothing against the efforts put forth by those who created these others, but the fact that their only slightly different, only supports the superb and timeless design, of our original classic emblem.

Theres no question some teams have made improvements to their logos, but most were because their original designs sucked to begin with. Even so, they nevertheless sacrificed nostalgia to get them, and in my opinion thats always a steep price to pay. While I too had once thought the helmet on the dolphin was questionable, I've since viewed it as OUR bit of nostalgia. It reflects the style of a bygone era, while the rest of the logo remains streamlined, and simple.
Make no mistake, others only wish they could have one like ours.

Tampa Bay, did well by adding some edginess to their design, but seeking to make a dolphin look angry, will only succeed in making it appear WEAK!

More playing... On the top one I rotated the dolphin so it's a bit more vertical. I like that part of our current logo and wouldn't want to lose it. I wasn't talented enough to add rays to the sunburst. I also tweaked the colors because I like them brighter.

On the second one I used another of the proposed logos from the PDF that I liked.

i like the idea of the second one, but its a bit too wavy and like seattle, though i like it

i like the face and its posture a lot and i like the orange down the side. The back is what loses me.

keep working on it

EDIT: keep the white helmet too

This is not bad, if we need a change. I am kind of warming to the idea of a change to herald a new era. Kind of.

yeah me too.

i also want a slight change in color of the Aqua for one reason:

sometimes it looks green and other times it looks aqua-bluish. check out pics from any game and our unis look like two different colors
