I believe our coaching search is realistically narrowed down to Philbin and Mccoy with Bowles being plan Z. Now if Joe Philbin is the next head coach of Miami that means that he will bring the GB system down with him and Matt Flynn will be our Qb. Honestly i believe this is a brilliant move. While no one actually knows how things will pan out I believe bringing a system with a qb is the smoothest transition and could finally be the answer we were all looking for on offense. Now our other option is Mike Mccoy who I don't know much about other than the fact that he has worked with Matt moore(who was someone successful under him). If this is our guy I think were all in for RGIII. We will give up 2 firsts and maybe a second to hold of washington and go and get Robert griffen. RGIII will be groomed for a little behind Matt Moore who already knows mccoys system from Carolina and he will be our future. Either way I'm content with those scenarios the big question is which head coach will get MORE out of his players.

I think that FLYNN will do what's best for FLYNN. I also believe that MIAMI won't go for FLYNN: he has not shown enough in for-real games, and has never had an Albatross like COLUMBO hanging around his neck. PHILBIN will have to stand on his own 2 feet. Personally, I think that he can do that.

As for moving up in the Draft to get LUCK or RGIII, forget about it. If MIAMI ends up at #8, it's a lot easier to move up to #4, and I would do so...to get BLACKMON. But moving up to #1 or #2 would cost way too much. And others also needing a QB can afford it better than MIAMI can.

I think that FLYNN will do what's best for FLYNN. I also believe that MIAMI won't go for FLYNN: he has not shown enough in for-real games, and has never had an Albatross like COLUMBO hanging around his neck. PHILBIN will have to stand on his own 2 feet. Personally, I think that he can do that.

Without being in the Green Bay locker room or sitting in on his interview(s) with Ross, that is something of an impossible task. With a play caller, you can look at plays. With a position coach, at least you can look at the development of the players at that position. With a non-play calling coordinator? Who the hell knows.

the good thing about the direction of the franchsie, it can't get any worse, take it back we could go 0-16, but i don't see that happening. I actually like the idea of moving to get blackmon, how cool would our offense look if we get philbin, he brings flynn and he has BM, bess, hartline, gates, and blackmon to throw to, even though i would probably get rid of hartline, oh and lets not forget clay bush and fasano. that would be a hell of an offense

The arguement for Philben without writing a paper on it is easy. He has been OC for an offense that has finished in top 10 every year in pts and yards he has been OC. He may not call the plays but as OC he is the coach responsibile for all offensive assistants and players in getting them prepared for game. As an oline coach he helped develop a very young line into a cohesive unit that over the years has protected thier qb much better than average. He seems to have a knack for dveloping his players and getting the most out of them. The packers always seem among the best prepared and disciplined offenses in the league year after year. There really should be no question among the three guys left who is the most qualified to be our next coach. He has 27 years of coaching experience and a history of success which is unrivaled by his competitiors for the job

​I don't think that Philbin being named HC is a guarantee that we get Flynn. I agree that we don't have a big enough sample on Flynn. Let him compete with Moore IF we can get him in a reasonable deal. As for Blackmon, I would like to see him here.

Couple of things here. I agree that Flynn will do what's best for him and IMO that means going to a team that runs the WCO. He's been playing in it for 4 years, he's been successful at it when he has played and he's comfortable in it. That makes Cleveland and Washington his most likely destinations unless Miami hires Philbin in which case I absolutely believe Flynn would come here if all contracts are relatively equal and I'm pretty sure Ireland and Ross probably asked Philbin about Flynn in their interviews. If for nothing else but to explore him as an option since he is a free agent.

Second, Flynn in his limited time was sacked 5 times last year. He's no stranger to poor line play, Green Bay's O-line was nearly as bad as ours. We gave up 52 sacks last year, 9 by Colombo who will be gone. Green Bay gave up 41 sacks last year and that's with a very mobile QB in Aaron Rodgers who also gets rid of the ball quickly most of the time. Only guy on their line worth a crap is Brian Bulaga.

I also agree with you about not moving up for RGIII but if we made the move to the WCO I'd actually rather have Kendall Wright who I see as another Greg Jennings in that offense but either one would be fine, lol.

I really liked Zimmer.. but now I think Philbin makes more sense
