The NFL has initiated a review of application of concussion protocol of #Dolphins QB Matt Moore after hit by #Steelers' Bud Dupree yesterday

Both the NFL And NFLPA announced Monday that they have "initiated a review" of the concussion protocol for Dolphins QB Matt Moore (pictured) after the hit he took in Sunday's playoff game from Steelers LB Bud Dupree. Here is part of the NFL's statement: "This review reflects the seriousness with which we take our obligation to ensure the health and safety of our players. It is important to note that initiation of this process does not mean that we have drawn conclusions as to whether the protocol was followed.

On the Dupree/Moore hit: @NFLPA will review the application of the Concussion Protocols by Miami’s medical staff in connection with the hit.

Translation: The Dolphins may be penalized here..

You think? I think that he was cleared to play by the independent Doctors. It was interesting watching it play out. He asked Moore what the score was. I think the review will be how something like that hit can result in such a quick return but nothing on us.

How about suspending the guy who illegally caused all of this. Clear head hunting and leading with the crown of the helmet on the ****ing QB.

NFL is a joke.

They'll probably take away 3 of our draft picks and suspend Gase for half a season knowing our luck. If the Steelers did the same thing, nothing would happen.

The concussion protocol is done by an independent medical staff...not necessarily the Dolphins medical staff.

I think it's pretty clear he wasn't in la la land. He might have made dumb decisions after the hit, but he played like he didn't have a concussion. I was pretty amazed he came back so fast, but there's no sense in holding him out just because he got hit. If he passed their tests then he should go back in.

You want to stop flagrant hits? Make the punishment fit the crime. For certain (league defined) types of hits, the guilty player sits out the same amount of time as the injured player. They can fine players for certain types of hits, but that isn't punishment enough. Take that player off the field and teams will respond.

There is nothing to say here that something was done improperly, however if it was would expect us to be fined and or penalized pick(s). All that said ya the NFL is so worried about the protocol and safety the net effect of that whole play was crap after the Ajayi penalty. Basically is was a free hit on the QB.

He might not have gone unconscious, but he must have been dazed.
Pretty sure Miami staff doesn't have a say in concussion protocol, but Moore came back fast!
Maybe player and player who caused injury should be help out for X amount of time, or maybe a special concussion review timeout....for safety's sake? :idk:

▪ The NFL has initiated a review of the Dolphins' administration of the concussion protocol after the hard hit by the Steelers' Bud Dupree on Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore, who returned to the game after missing only one play. The NFL and NFLPA will conduct the review.

The Dolphins say Moore was evaluated and cleared by an unaffiliated neurological consultant and the team physician before re-entering the game.

Gase is the last person in the world who lets a player play hurt, this has to be bogus

Exactly. If anything they should review the refs who didnt throw the yellow flag prior to that dirty hit. Reviewing the protocol will be a complete waste of time.

I totally disagree with most people here. Moore was not the same after that hit. He was not playing scared or anything just the fumbles, his awareness was totally off. I have no doubt he was playing with a concussion. Easy passes he would normally get he wouldn't even scan the field. Dear God remember when he tried to scramble for the first down? Where the hell was he going? He was moving in slow motion it seemed like. You guys believe what you want. After this investigation IT IS NOT GOING TO LOOK GOOD FOR WHOEVER CLEARED HIM TO GO BACK OUT THERE. (sorry not sure why my caps lock turned on lol)
