In a statement that would surprise noone....the NFL said the referee made a mistake bu overturning that INT call. Now i want them to admit to the other 4-5 mistakes other than that one that was so blatant over the weekend!

The NFL has to be extermly pissed by how the way the refs are handling the games this season. I tell you one thing, I sure as hell wouldn't want to be ref right now.

Where's Alex22?
I think I might bump the thread where he was defending the call so adamantly.:D

The refs are having a rough playoffs....the Steelers almost got beat due to the bad call on Troy P...he clearly made the pick and rolled over with the ball in his hands. I have no idea what replays they were looking at.

Not surprised at all. The biggest thing is that a call can't be overturned without CONCLUSIVE evidence. This makes the ref look like an idiot because it was an obvious INT. Then he overturned a correct call with no evidence whatsoever to change it. What would be really upsetting (obviously) is if Pittsburg had lost the game. These refs need to get with the program. To have games called so consistently bad says alot about the state of officiating. The officials the NFL uses for these crucial games are supposed to be the best of the best. Pretty scary thought.

What really bothers me is that BS PI call in the Den game where Samuels is looking back for the ball, and gets called in the end zone, and that one in the PIT game is not even considered. WHERE IS THE CONSISTENCY???:fire:

The NFL should be ASHAMED of themselves, and hopefully, they have a damn conference to reduce the level of discretion the refs are given!

Or, just a thought, MAKE ALL CALLS AND PENALTIES reveiwable? Whats the matter NFL? Afraid of publically loosing your referee's integrity?

I'm surprised they actually said anything other than "no comment." I guess enough people were complaining that they decided it should be addressed publicly.

It wasn't just wrong, it was world class incompetence. Tantamount to telling Tiger Woods his shot didn't go in even though the ball is sitting in the bottom of the cup. That ref should be demoted, if not drop kicked out of the league by Doug Flutie.

I never understood the "conclusive evidence" thing. Is this a court case? Is one camera angle not enough? How about just reviewing and looking for any evidence that proves the call right or wrong? What if a bad call is made and one 5 second clip of video shows what should have been called? I bet that conclusive evidence bull is what they used to not give us that TD ag SD.

See? The league does admit when calls are blown.

Sorry Alex...looks like the fight was for naught :)
