As we saw this sunday our offensive line doesn't deserve all the blame. Don't get me wrong they aren't great, but a big part of the problem was Culpepper. He was sacked 21 times in 4 games while Harrington was sacked just once agaisnt a pretty solid front four. This shows us how bad of shape Culpepper is in. Joey was very impressive in his debut. He had a short time to prepare and he didn't even recieve a majority of the snaps last week in practice. His presence will hopefully be whats gets our offense to progress weekly. The offensive line definitely needs work especially in the running game, but their pass protection and joey's quick decisions are hopefully a sign of things to come. .

Harrington was sacked only once because he got rid of the ball as soon as he touched it... using those same short passes that seemed to infuriate everyone here when Culpepper threw them.

your foolin yourself unless im mistakin joey was sacked once? the call was turned into a penalty when the sacker grabbed joey's mask! Joey did however do what he does best and throw 2 interceptions! I dont however blame all this on joey.Mike Mularkey needed to run the ball and be patient.Instead of throwing all the time.Joey will get us killed in the fourth you watch and see!!!!!!!!!:shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno:

That 2nd int was a fluke. It bounced off of Welkers pads. It was thrown behind him because he thought Welker was going to stop and sit in the soft spot of the zone. Welker kept running. It was a lack of communication from not playing much.
The 1st int JH blamed on himself, although I think the WR could have prevented that one by fightning for the ball and maybe even drawing a pass int penalty. :shakeno: :shakeno:

One game does not tell you anything. Sure, Harrington wasn't sacked. But, part of that was a function of the changes Mularkey made in the offense - and part of it was Harrington just deciding to throw the ball sooner. But, Joey was not impressive.

When you are at zero TD's and 2 INT's - and those two INT's go for TD's and you lose by 10 points - and then you only put 10 points on the board - there is nothing - nada, zilch, zippo, zero, the big "0" - impressive about that, no matter how you slice it!

Turnovers are the name of the game in this league and nothing else you do matters. If you don't protect the ball - all the other stuff is fluff. Forget the sacks, Harrington cost the team 14 points and put only 10 on the board.

"Impressive" would be two TD's and zero INT's and the offense scores 21+ points. Otherwise, impressive is out the window.

Dude, as you can see from the responses you are getting, you aren't going to change these blind Culpepper supporters, for whatever reason they are in love with him, and obviously their veiw of games are severly skewed. I agree with you 100%, and to the rest of you who still want to blame everone but Culpepper for the first 4 games, especially the o-line, referring to the quick 3 step drops, and quick passes, Saban said it himself after the game, they went to that type of passing game with the quick passes and quick reads because that is Joey's strenge, which in coach speak means, Culpepper can't make the quick reads, and we all know his mobility is gone. Joey may not be the long term answer but for the here and now he gives us the best chance to win games.

Joey got rid of the ball quicker. And the OL pass blocked better than they have all year.

Pep struggled. The OL struggled. But Pep was getting better. And so did the OL, only a week later. They still can't run block though.

Joey played pretty well IMO.

EXACTLY. I still think C-Pepp is the better QB (when at full health), but starting Joey is the right choice for the team right now. Pepp is injured and rattled, and we don't need someone behind center like that. I was impressed with the tempo of our offense, I think Joey lead the offense pretty decent. The only thing that makes me cringe is that he threw 0 Tds and 2 Ints. After watching C-Pepp not throw an INT the last two games, I was hoping we wouldn't regress back to throwing costly INTs, but I do believe Harrington will be better with a full week of practice while knowing he is this week's starter. I have faith in both QBs and I'll always root for whoever is taking the snap for our Fins.

one more thing.....Our offensive line is STILL responsible for most of the sacks to C-Pepp. The blocking has been horrible up to the Pats game, when they finally started to pass block better. I guess we found out from the Pats game that our o-line can pass block for 2-3 secs.; not 4-5 secs.

So right you are.

The o-line still stinks though. They can't run block to save their lives.

We have had OL problems since back with Wanny and we still are. If we had left Culpepper back there he would have risked another injury with all those sacks.

While you can't put it ALL on the OL, they deserve MOST of the blame, they are not run blocking and didn't give Joey muchmore time than they gave Daunte, Joey just got rid of the ball faster. We need our QB to have some time to throw the ball, and we need an OL that run block and enable Ronnie to get some yards. Our OL sucks.

Pass protection? It was a joke last Sunday. Don't be fooled by the fact Harrington only got sacked once. In fact , he really got sacked twice if it weren't for a penalty against NE. The line gave him very little time throughout the game. Their run blocking was atrocious.
This line is killing us.

Compare stats. With fewer sacks how was Joey better than DC? How did his stats compare? Did he win? Did he score more than DC?

What are are referring to is perception. Just because you perceived Joey to be impressive, doesn't mean he was.

So then Ronnie sucks to, huh. Because if the OL rocks like you say, Ronnie is a bust and we should cut his butt if he can't cut thru those massive holes your awesome OL is creating.

Hey Dolfanatic 23 What Games Are You Watching Our Rb Can't Get Near 100 Yards, They Don't Hoild Blocks, Benie Anderson Was On The Bench For The Bills, The Bills,!!!
