The Offence

WELLL WE SHALL C I WOULD BET THAT NO TEAM RUSHES OVER A 100 YARDS AGAINST US THIS YEAR THAT IS WE STAY HEALTHY WITH WHO WE HAVE STARTING THEY WILL HAVE TO BEAT US IN THE AIR AND THAT WILL BE HARD TO DO ONCE WE SIGN LANCE

Dude we have a really hard schedule, we play some of the best teams in the league twice so we might not let the run get to us like last year but we might have a couple of 100 yards against us here and there.

MAYBE ..BUT LOSMAN WILL HAVE TO PROVE HE CAN THROW THE BALL AND UNTIL HE DOSE WE WILL STACK THE LINE ON THE JILLS I DIDNT SAY THAT WE WOULD HOLD EVERY TEAM UNDER 100 YARDS BUT WE WILL THE JILLS I DONT THINK LOSMAN CAN HANDLE THE PRESSURE OF THROWING AND WITH JASON TAYLOR AND CARTER COMING FULL FORCE JUST LIKE EVERY BODY DID AGAINST US LAST YEAR THEY WASNT WORRED ABOUT US RUNNING ON THEM SO WE WILL BE FOCUSED ON THE RUN UNTIL LOSMAN CAN BEAT US THROUGH THE AIR AND HE WILL HAVE TO DO IT UNDER HEAVY PRESSURE I DIDNT SAY THAT WE WOULD HOLD EVERY TEAM UNDER 100 YARDS

Caps lock is your friend.

How does a thread asking about how the Dolphins will do on offense get turned into another Losman bashing thread. And US bills fans get criticized...

is there any chance you could switch from caps lock to normal font, like most of all posters do over here ???

I'll take a crack at it.

Receivers - Great one in Chambers, good one in booker, definately not sold on Boston.

Te- Randy is a great TE

RB- I am not gonna toot Brown's horn just yet as he has done nothing. However he has the POTENTIAL to be one of the greats, hes a physical specimen and I think sharing carries with Williams at Auburn can only help his longevity. I would expect next to nothing from Ricky this year.

This is where it starts to get dicey...

Offense Line- Was terrible last year and really did nothing to improve besides adding Houck(sp?). Although I am sure this will help I am not expecting big things from this unit next year.

QB - Another big question mark. Gus has been a long time #2 guy, reports seem to say he is doing pretty well in OTA's but my only question can he make it through a 16 game season? He hasnt been a full time starter since the 90's and he isnt getting any younger. Feeley, what can you say about that guy. Make all the excuses you want I just can see the dolphins returning to a powerhouse team in the AFC or even within the division with him at the helm. I think the next big move the dolphins need to make is to get a quality QB whether through next years draft of FA.

Overall I think the offense has many weapons but how well will they be able to two when the arguably the two most important things on offense (o-line and QB) are the teams biggest question mark remains to be seen.

**Tried to make that as objective as possible, although I can see the phin fans already going for my "Buffalo" throat.**

I think that is a pretty good analogy--even for a Bills fan

Personally it all starts with the coaching . We had a horrible coaching staff last year, week in and week out; it was evident that we were poorly prepared (i.e. 2 minute drill) for some games. This team was in complete disarray last year, every week it was something new, and I'm not going to open up old wounds by doing a recap, becasue we all know what they were. This team did not go 4-12 because of its' talent, it was because of poor coaching, and I'm not talking about just the x's and o's, I'm referring to motivation and control of this team. We had no leadership up top, frankly; I think some of the coaches just gave up. I applaud Jim Bates effort when he was the interim coach, and it was obvious that they played better under his leadership, but I agree 100% that Bates was not the man for the job.

We now have a coaching staff that will soon be recognized as second to none. Soon it will be our coaches being coaxed away from us for head coaching and coordinator positions, when is the last time that has happened to us? Saban, Houck, Linehan, Bagget, and Davis are some of the coaches on offense that will have an immediate effect on this team and it will transpire to the field.

We have very good weapons on offense. RB has excellent depth with Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams, Lamar Gordon, Kay Jay Harris, and Sammy Morris. We have a very good WR corp with Chris Chambers, Marty Booker, David Boston, Derrius Thompson and Bryan Gilmore. We have an excellent TE in Randy McMichael.

We all know our biggest questions are offensive line and QB. I think we solved one of these problems with the hiring of Houck and the addition of Stockar McDougal. The others will florish under Houck's tutelage and things will sort itself out. So now that leaves QB. Who will emerge as the starter? Frerotte or Feeley. I've been hearing mixed reviews on both QBs during mini camp, so I will have to wait and see what happens during training camp. It would be nice to see Feeley win the job, but at least we have a capable veteran who already knows the system and can step in and lead the team if needed.

Bottom line, we have a coaching staff in place that will have this offense firing on all pistons. I will take Linehan and Houch over Forester and Wise any day.

Thats your opinion...Right???
That was his opinion and I share it. As a matter of fact, last years no.1 wasn't as good as that Ravens D. Your D wasn't even close to last years no. 1. I don't care who you signed from FA. You are still not a no. 1 D this year. Not even on paper. Your DL got better at pass rush but your run D is still questionable.

On paper your db's are weaker. Whether it's paper or not, your D shouldn't even be comparedd to that Ravens D. Our D is better than yours and I wouldn't even dare compare it to that Ravens D.

why don't some of you bills fans go lose a superbowl or something, shoo! shoo!

that only applies to some ignorant fans. i actually think we will only make it to 7-9 this season, but our future is very bright. my concern is with the bills fans presence in general- gets on your nerves after a while you know.

For the record, it's offense. Second we can have a productive offense but it's all going to depend on our QB and our RB basically how they perform will determine whether or not we will have a great O.

The homerism on this board simply defies logic. Yes - we should be improved. No - we are not anywhere near what that Ravens team was. Are you seriously thinking we have a solid D right now when everyone is scratching their heads over who is going to be playing in our secondary? We are also anorexically thin at DT and (aside from Seau and ZT) have a young inexperienced LB corps that may be good, but will make youngster mistakes.

The offense - enough said. The only real addition, other than coaching, is Brown. Detroit's castoff is starting on our line for Pete-sake. Get a grip people. Coaching is not what sent Seth flying 3 yards backwards everytime he faced a bullrush; and coaching is not what had McMike and Booker dropping balls like they were playing hot potato.

Need to face facts - this team absolutely sucked last season and we have the toughest schedule in the NFL this season.

If the offense improves to 13-17 and our defense improves to 10-15 then that is a tremendous result in one season and we would regain respectability. One more solid off-season and we can start talking about potential dominance.
