Can anybody tell me about the offensive line. I didn't really see the Dolphins much last year. Who were the main starters on the offensive line? How many are expected to start this year?

Who is good? Rating offensive linemen is so tough, but hopefully somebody out there can provide some legitimate insight.

There is only one thing that can describe the O-Line last year.

This year though we have gotten some new people in to help pull it together so this year we are going to be a lot better. Not to mention we have one of the best O-Line coachs in football right now. Last year was to sad to talk about, and right now the new season is about to start, lets not think bout last year.

This is just my opinion:

there will only be 1 starter starting from last year, unless you consider hadnot a starter from last year:

my projection (may be some hope mixed in)

LT-Carey-2nd year, has looked real good in camp and that is why i think he will beat dmac
LG-James-from last year
C-Hadnot-animal-tearing it up in camp, starting where he left off last year
RG-Middleton or Seth<<<<<maybe-Middleton-beast if he is healthy started in Philly the last 4 years
RT-Macdougal-Beast-from Detroit

Last year the starters were Wade Smith, Jeno James, Seth McKinney, John St. Clair, and Damion McIntosh. Backup O-Line players included Taylor Whitley Greg Jerman, Vernon Carey, Rex Hadnot. They did mix the starting linup somewhat at times so some of the backups became starters during the season.

Of last years starting lineup only Jeno James is considered a lock to start this year. McKinney has struggled and Hadnot is working out at C and is doing fairly well. Wade Smith has a broken arm...maybe out for the season. McIntosh is a T and both Carey and McDougle look better than him at the T spots. St Clair is versatile and can play G or T, but the only hope for him is the RG spot and if Middleton is healthy I dont think anyone can beat him out for that spot.
Our starting lineup this year looks like it could be: LT Vernon Carey, LG Jeno James, C Rex Hadnot, RG Frank Middleton, RT Stockar McDougle.

At the start of the season the OL from left to right was Smith/James/Seth/Whitley/St.Clair.
As soon as he was able to play, which didn't mean he was in optimum condition, McIntosh too over at LT for Smith, even though Mac could not have ever been 100% strength wise in the lower unit all season. From the time he could walk on his repaired ankle to when he began to play was not enough time to weight lift to the point where he could get all his strength back.
Whitley was the worst starter when he played during the first half of the season and he was replaced by Hadnot about half way through. Seth played every game, James missed a couple with injury and Hadnot filled in before he eventually replaced Whitley full time. St.Clair missed one or two games at RT and Carey filled in and did about as well as St.Clair, who probably played the best of any OLineman over the entire season, which isn't saying a lot.
It looks like of the group that ended last season as starters, James and Hadnot will continue to start this season. Seth has an outside chance I guess as long as he is on the roster and so does St.Clair. Either could be the starting RG. Both starting tackles will be new with Carey and McDougle.

Ill just say this......

Its not very good

It's better than Buffalo's right now.

I love what I'm hearing about our o-line in camp so far.

All I've heard of Buffalo's though, is Mike Gandy getting beat like a rented mule.

Last year's OL started the season with:

LT: Wade Smith, LG Jeno James, C Seth Mckinney, RG T. Whitley, RT St. Clair

LT sucked after 2-3 games was replaced by an injured McIntosh, who was still healing from off season surgury to his ankle.
James, didn't play as well as we thought he would. Seth=no show, he got push back into the backfield so much, you'd think he was the RB., Whitley should have never been on the field, less more starting. St. Clair was our most consistent OLman last year, but even he got beat way too often. After James got injured and returned, the man who took his place while he was out was moved to RG, (thank God), and the OL started playing better. So they ended the seaons with:

LT: McIntosh, RG: James, C: Mckinney, RG: Hadnot, RT: St. Clair

This year we've draft T: Anthony Alabi in the 7th.

brought in RT Stockar McDougle from the Lions and G Damion Cook, since TC started we've added guard Frank Middleton, formerly of the Raiders, cap cut to get Moss, had a injury as well, but is on the upside now, We also added philly's b/u center Alonzo Ephraim.

As of today: the first depth chart has:
LT Carey, RG James, C S. Mckinney RG Hadnot, RT McDougle

Possible changes could be for opening day, based on somethings going on in camp:

LT Carey, RG James, C Hadnot, RG St. Clair\Middleton\Cook\McKinney\Ephraim, RT McDougle.

--Edit--btw, this year's OL is like night and day over last year's..must better coming out of the gate, sure get better, if healthy as the year goes by.

Hopefully this helps

I wont deny it, i have been hearing the same about Gandy, but we will see how he does tonight when we scrimmage GB.

I don't want to turn this into a Dolphins vs Buffalo thread, all i did was give my opinion on your offensive line like he asked, but Buffalo's line is still better then Miami's IMO

OK, thank you. I'm tired of the bills/Fins pi$$ing contests myself.

We'll just have to see. I'll be watching your scrimmage tonight.

I just love that we have two 1st round picks as our bookend tackles. That is so much of an improvement over last year.
