The line looked really bad last night ...these guys were pumped up because they feel they have alot to prove and they stunk out there..carey was slow ...james was pretty bad..hadnot was good..st clair yawn... mcdougal was ok... I can make this assessment from one game because these guys are under a microscope..and they still dont have a clue.. I have been a finfan for 30 years and a direct tv watcher since 94 and i think i wasted my $199 again..:yell: go ahead and say i am off the bandwagon... i want this team to win so badly i am just so god dam dissappointed...i hope i am wrong but i dont think so...

First game of the pre-season. Relax. Please step back from the ledge. :shakeno:

for the very little time the whole starting line was together you made that assumption quick. I know Hadnot Started at C, but he was off the field pretty quickly. They need to gel. And that doesn't happen in practice or camp. It happens in a game. Players don't know how much they can trust one another until they are there, in the trenches, fighting for all that they've got.

I really want the team to win also, but let's not piss God off

The offense always takes longer to get it together, we also didnt expect all of the blitzes that the Bears brought. Every camp report on Carey says he can hold his own with everyone but JT, and he does OK with JT. I think he will be fine, Jeno will improve once he is only worried about his man and not whether he needs to help with the DE that the LT couldnt handle. Hadnot was just moved to C, St. Clair is versatile but hasnt seen much time at RG he will improve, McDougal is going to be a MONSTER this year!(just a gut feeling) This is the first of 5 preseason games, if we had played this bad in the 5th Id be worried but we still have a month to improve!

how come other teams can replace guys and it works????

because other teams usually have solid coaching. We have solid coaching now, but you wait, in 3 years, saban will be able to do just that with the entire team.

I thought D. Mcintosh did better at LT than Carey even though it was v.s 2nd stringers.

Because other teams have had caoching systems in place that work for years.....We had JoJo the Idiot Circus Monkey for an OL coach, now we have had to install a proper scheme, send the players for deprogramming, reteach the players, and that all takes time.

Yeah, let's wait a little longer to freak out. It's very hard to judge from pre-season.

If anybody cares to think back, the season Ricky has his monster 1800 yard season, the O-Line looked like **** in the pre-season, but they played fairly well that season. They looked bad again the next pre-season, and were worse, but still managed to help Ricky eek out 1400 yards.

Last season they looked bad in the pre-season, and WERE bad all season. So the point of all this is just to reiterate something we all already know: you can't judge much of anything by the preseason.

That said, and FWIW, the O-Line appeared to look better Monday night than they did early last season. They didn't open many holes for the RBs, but considering how much Chicago was blitzing, they QBs had more time to throw, on average, than they did last season.

I really think blitzing as much as they (and us too) did so early on is kind of distasteful. this was really just supposed to be a televized intense scrimmage.

we blitzed and what happened nothing we didnt get close..and the bears were supposed to have a terrible line last year
