Moore is a strong, playmaking safety that can alter a game with his unique blend of attributes. He’s a forceful, run defending safety, who also defends well in coverage. He’s fast in pursuit, tracks down ballcarriers and brings them down on initial contact. He anticipates the action well, reads the quarterback, displays a great burst to the ball and uses his excellent ball skills to turn defense into offense. - Chris Steuber, Scout.com

I agree. That guy is crazy. Especially with Jason Allen looking more like a fit at CB now.

im never in favor of drafting a safety high in the draft esp when corner is a bigger need.

i find threads like this pointless... firstly, and ecuse my ignorance, i have no idea who this is.. secondly, nobody knows where we will be slotted to draft.. so how can anybody begin to campaign for speciifc players without knowing if there is even any shot of them being on the board when we draft.. its a bit silly... IMO

isn't he the safety from Missouri?

Yes. And I agree whole heartedly with the thread starter.

We should have a reasonable shot at Moore. He's gonna be the top FS taken, probably in the 8-15 range.....I suspect we'll fall somewhere in there.

This thread is only pointless to those who don't have a clue what their talking about.

I'm not as high on Moore as some people...... I saw him take some very poor angles against Texas and Oklahoma St....

Miami can probably get the best safety in the draft in the 2nd round IMO....Rashad Johnson...

You want a safety??? Eric Berry...5 INTs, one for a TD...only a Sophomore...not sure if he can come out this year....

Your boy must only have a single INT or none...he wasn't even on the list for INTs...

He can't come out until next year as a junior.....Berry made the Freshman All America Team last year....almost knocked TWO Alabama players out of the game by himself last Saturday....ferocious hitter and fabulous athlete....was recruited as a cornerback (#1 in the country) and will play corner in the NFL....

5-11, 195.....and has been timed at 4.32....

I think he's the #1 DB in 2010 and a top 5 pick...

You want a free safety that is a playmaker, one that we won't have to spend a high pick on, look no further

Nate Ness
FS/ Arizona
6'1" 195#

He had 18 picks at one of the best Juco colleges in 2 years, and has 7 more at Arizona. Also, he's second on his team in tackles currently. Here's his notes:

10/17/08 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: Help is needed up front. The Wildcats have been blown off the ball in their two defeats. They lack size up front and power at linebacker. Arizona's given up 221 and 286 yards rushing, respectively, in losses. The pass defense continues to be top-ranked nationally. Nobody is challenging the corners deep. Some people just have knack for the ball. Safety Nate Ness fits that bill. He had 18 interceptions during his two years at El Camino(Calif.) College. He had his seventh pick at the UA against Stanford, which he returned for a 75-yard touchdown.

10/13/08 - LOOKING GOOD: The Wildcats continue to take good care of the ball, not turning the ball over against the Cardinal. Arizona has seven turnovers all season, with five coming in one game...Safeties Nate Ness and Cam Nelson have become the leaders and most reliable defenders on a young unit. They had 14 and 12 tackles, respectively.

10/12/08 - GAME BALL GOES TO: Safety Nate Ness - Points were difficult for the Wildcats to get. The senior did his share with a 75-yard interception return for a touchdown. He had a fumble recovery on a previous Stanford possession. Ness, who intercepted 18 passes at the JC level, had six last year for Arizona. Ness has a nose for the ball, as evident by his game-high 14 tackles.

Moore was a stud last year.. This year has Fell.. And i have been too all home MU games

There's a lot to love about William Moore. Not sure how our front office feels about safeties in the first round.

I tell you one player I love that doesn't get enough play is Otis Wiley of Michigan State. I just don't know that you can coach the nose for the football that this guy has, and IMO he has versatility too...can cover man to man. He's 6'2" and 210 pounds, perfect size really...I dunno maybe I just haven't seen enough of him but I think he can be very good at the next level.
