The Official 2006 New York Yankees Thread!

Yes the MLB didn't give the Yankees a day off just to try to screw them. :shakeno:

The MLB doesn't even do the schdule, another firm does.

I bet you weren't complaining last year when the Red Sox had 0 days off in September. The reason why the Yankees have so many games in so many days is due to rain outs. Blame mother nature. Plus why are you even bringing this up when obviously the extra days rest the Red Sox got didn't help.

the only reason because of the schedule is because of rain outs and make up games.

I dont' know why anyone is crying about anything. It happens. To all teams.

:yeahthat:

You think those rainouts were bad, I remember last years Marlins team having to play something like 57 games in 2 months because of all the hurricanes. They were in the Wild Card race and I believe that's what killed them

Yeah that year didn't they have to play a HOME game vs the Cubs in Wrigly as part of a double header make-up. With the hurricanes and all I think.

Wild Pitch scores a run.......woooooooooo

Scott Boras has his seat behind homeplate to watch A-Rod K 4 times with still another at bat or two left!

The fans at the game were really pulling for Arod to get that 5th K.

YAAA MVP A ROD!!!!
0 for 10 7 ks
but the bigger issue, can we get some decent starting pitching from out 4, 5 guys? Jaret and lidle wilth both 3.1-3.2 IP performances, beyond horrible.

I'm not trying to make an excuse for the Yankees and I know that the Angels own us but I think what your seeing from this team and bullpen in general is the effect of playing 21 games in 20 days. I think these last 2 series exposed the Yankees not only because their starting pitching has been weak but also because their tired. Villone and Proctor are exhausted and I for one can't wait for tomorrow's day off and to head back to the Bronx to take on the Tigers and Twins. This team needs a rest!

Your are 100% right, but LAA owns us anyway. We are their biiiiiiiiitch. Their 2am Booty Call. They own us and have their way with us everytime.

Luckily Oakland is our biiiiiiiiiiitch!! And they are in 1st place still and will hopefully keep LAA out of the playoffs.

Your words not mine:tongue:,but I hear ya we had a similar stretch too.And during this run my Halos looked beat up.It was disheartening also that the A's have kept the pressure on by playing great ball themselves.Btw it would also help your pen if your starters would get past the 4th inning.Imo your pen is suspect anyway except for Rivera and Villone has shown well lately.

Game 3 today we got our rookie LHP Saunders(4-1 3.06 era) going against Karstens???

I think our pen is fine with Proctor, Mo, Farnsworth, and Villone it's just that Proctor and Villone have had to be way over-used because of our starters not named Mussina, Johnson, and Wang being chased by the 3rd inning. After seeing Wright embarras himself the last couple of starts and averaging 4.9 innings pitched per start, I never thought I'd say this but bring Carl Pavano on!
