The Official 2006 New York Yankees Thread!

Trade A-Rod to my Phillies...we need a 3rd baseman.....ummmm, ohhh on 2nd thought we don't want him....he ruins every team he goes too.

Ok, home earlier than expected.

Bottom line is Detroit has better starting pitching. And their pitching won it for them.

While Rogers was a surprise, Verlander and Bonderman are studs. Their young arms in a short series were enough.

Detriot is the better team. Gotta tip your cap to them

AROD sucked this series. But everyone did.

While Im not going to get into an AROD debate for the 10,000th time. I will say if you look at his SEATTLE playoff numbers, it's hard to knock those!! They are good. Very good.

his NY playoff numbers suck. No doubt.

Another Year I Get To Keep My Avitar !!!!!!!!!!! 210 Million Dollar Chokers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How did they choke? They met a better team who had pitching. All the Yankees had was bats. Good pitching always beats good hitting

Some guys I don't expect back next year.

Jaret Wright
Gary Sheffield
Carl Pavano
Craig Wilson
Bernie Williams

The thing to remember with AROD. He has a no trade claus meaning he can just say FU to everyone and stay put. (and the way he has been treated he just might) If he accepts a trade it is almost like admitting failure. Which is a knock on his resume he can never get off. By staying around he at least has the "opportunity" to re-write it.

For AROD to leave I think it will take his wife, close friends, and people he trust to talk him into accepting any trade. I don't see AROD making a personal decision to leave on his own.

No Im just saying the mentality of the team now, its a business and not a game for the players. The one thing all of the last WS winners had in common was they had fun playing the game and had great team chemistry

IMO its something the Yanks dont have, they are just a bunch of big names.

On some level you're right but the real problem is they have no pitching anymore. Wang and Mussina are nice but there's noone else

Use all the pathetic logic you want to make yourself feel better. The Tigers were 19-31 in their last 50 games and were swept by the horrible Royals with the division title on the line........ 210 Million Dollar Payroll, full of all stars who choked, plain and simple..... Spin it anyway you want .........Ask ole Georgie boy what he thinks right now?

971 million dollars in payroll since their last championship..............
