EX: what just happen... Mariners got a bad call go there way... Phillips should of got the triple but the ump says the play is dead cause the catches is arguing...the catcher arguing should not stop the play...

Everyone has calls that are wrong and it gose there way and sometimes it dont...it all evens out... Red Sox's got calls that went there way, so dose every other team

I agree, but the difference is like I said the Yankees pretty much always take advantage of it so that's why it's talked about more. (There's nothing wrong with them taking advantage of it though, hell I wish my team would).

would you guys like 2 see soriano back....i would i never wanted 2 see him go in the 1st place

I didn't want to see him go but I was ok w/ it for ARod. I was very frustrated w/ Sori as he was terrible in the '02 and '03 postseasons both in the field and at the plate so I was ok w/ moving him. Unfortunately I had no idea ARod would be so bad in big spots or I think I'd have been against the trade.

Hey guys, I just found this thread. It took me long enough :smackhead

As far as Soriano, not really, I would like to get some reliable pitchers first. Randy and Moose won't be around much longer and the thought of starting a season without them is really concerning. As much as I would love for the Yanks to get a guy like Soriano or Abreu, I would much rather see the Yanks get a guy like Zito or Willis (if the price is right).

The Yanks have a very potent lineup and as we know, Joe Torre likes to have plenty of pitchers from which to choose. So I think the Yanks should let Sheffield walk at the end of the season and use his salary to find a guy like Zito. I think Melky can be a good player (not great, just good) and he will fill the RF spot just fine for a few years.

I agree man, we need more arms, especially in the bullpen. I wouldn't mind getting Soriano but it shouldn't be the teams first priority simply because Sheffield and Matsui will probably be back and even if it's in September there's no way either them will sit, which will leave Melky and Bernie the odd men out (and both have done so much to have the Yankees even in contention that it's not fair to them if they have to sit during crucial games in September). I for one am not nervous that the Yankees are going to make panic moves like they have the past few years. As far as I can see, Cashman is running the ship and I think he knows that getting pitching is more important then getting another bat. If we could get Gordon back that would be a gift from heaven but even a Roberto Hernandez type would help big time. Plus as far as starting pitching goes, the Yankees won't make a big move for one at the deadline, they'll slide Pavano into the rotation when he's ready and either Ponson or Wright will be moves to the bullpen (depending on who is pitching better at the time). I expect Wright to be moved to the bullpen not because Ponson is better then him but because Ponson can go deeper into games where as Wright is just a 5 inning pitcher, 6 on his best days!

I think we should see what we have in Dotel and let the bullpen work itself out of its current situation. The Yanks didn't want to pay Gordon big $$$ so he left to be a closer and now regrets his decision, I don't think he will be back.

I definitely think that starting pitching is the priority and hope that Cashman does indeed have the control he needs to do his job properly. I am not counting on Pavano to be anything other than a very expensive cheerleader at this point and the thought of a Ponson/Wright duo in the playoffs doesn't make me all warm and fuzzy inside. I think the Yanks need to add someone who will be reliable and someone who can take over the #1a or #1b spot when Randy or Moose leave.

I read in the NY post that he said he would welcome a trade back to the Yanks if the Phils do trade him. Settle down bro, his words not mine. Do you really think that he wanted to go to a team that was going to trade him during his first season??? He had a good thing going in NY and left for the money and now finds himself not knowing where he will be playing in a few weeks.

I disagree but respectfully. Our starting pitching has been solid IMO, it's the bullpen that's blown us more games. True Dotel is coming back but he's a question mark and do you think Proctor or Farnsworth can get a big out in a September pennant race or in October if the Yankees make it there? I don't, that is why I would love to add another proven arm to the bullpen. We've got a ton of starting pitcher to sort through on our own team (Chacon, Pavano when he returns, Ponson, and Wright) and I think that can work itself out. I don't believe however that the bullpen can be sorted through and what really scares me about Proctor and Farnsworth is that they've been giving up a lot of homers lately, which isn't a good sign. Plus, what starters are out there on the trade market? Paul Byrd, Odalis Perez, Mark Redman, or Livan Hernandez? Please, I'll go to war with what we have over any of those guys!

Fair enough, a difference of opinion.

Joe Torre just said that Dotel has another set back and is going to see the Dr. tomorrow. No way the Yankees can rely on him coming back anymore!
