Turning point of the game? Try turning point of the SEASON!!

His 8th inning was impressive. His 9th wasn't at all. Ya can't give up a lead off double if your a closer coming in with a lead. And his Bernie at bat wasn't great at all he got away with ahuge break on the Bernie check swing. That at bat didn't look like it was goign his way at all.

I agree with you. Who knows if he would have blown it if he didn't throw 25 pitches in the 8th. But you're right you can't give up a lead off double.

I think Damon's at bat vs. Papelbon was a great pitching display though.

Jorge Juiced one!!!!!!!

We need 2 more runs to continue our streak of double digit runs scored in this series. BOSTON MASSACRE continues!!!

Procter kept NY in this game and kept us close enough and didn't let Boston blow us out. HE should get the first game ball.

Then Jeter, then Rivera, then Giambi.

But Procter was the man tonight. No doubt

what a great game...

damon was the hero tonight......for getting that all important hit in the 8th inning which won me over 150 bucks tonight.

They won the East, no matter what happens tomorrow.

Now we get a chance to sweep 5 of 5 in Boston AND beat up on Fatboy Wells in the process..........oh this is like a wet dream that just came true!

Torre hates Wells he might relish tomorrow more than anyone.

I'll be at Fenway tomorrow, hopefully the Sox won't suck entirely. But tomorrow's game won't matter at all. I bet Torre treats this like a spring training game. Resting some of his players, if the Yankees/Red Sox score a ton of runs early, the regulars will be benched. As it is I'm not expecting all the regulars in the line up anyway.

P.S. Mike, you and I are getting along tonight!

Arod rested tonight as the DH, he will start at 3rd tomorrow. Jeter and Cano will start. Wilson will play 1B vs the leftie. Giambi might rest and you might have Bernie DH, but the way Giambi is swinging that is a tough call.

The outfield will all play. And Fassano will start obviously as Jorge isn't doing a night-day back to back games on short turnaround.

This is NOT a spring training game in anyway. That is weak you can't be serious???????????????????????? NY will go for the kill tomorrow. Total destruction on all levels. Problem is Lidel is pitching so who knows.

The kills has already been put on. Maybe I worded it wrong by saying Spring Training game but I don't think you'll see all the regulars in. Obviously Posada won't play, I could see possibly Abreu or Damon sitting out vs. Wells tomorrow. I'm sure Arod and Jeter will be in because they always are anyway. Bernie will be in, same with Melky. Cano might get some rest too.

If the Sox score a bunch of runs earlier I think Torre will bench his regulars and have them rested for the West Coast trip, that's what I meant by treating it like a Spring Training game.

and I stopped bye to read the OTHER thread tonight for the first time all year. And thank god I don't post there or visit at all. I made the mistake tonight and now I must respond. (visiting there is a mistake I won't make again)

To the clown who wants to "pinch run" for Ortiz in the 9th..........you couldn't have any less knowledge of baseball if you tried.

1) He's a DH. They only ask him to do 1 thing, HIT! If you can't stay in the game when you get a lead off double (granted error, but he ended up on 2nd) then seriously something is wrong. He's their best hitter in a tie game. So if the next 3 guys strike out, you then just took your best hitter and possible AL MVP out of the game for what????????? Nothnig??????? If he did that, then you would be crying the other side and want Francona hanging from a rope from the monster seats over left field!!!

2) You can't make any claim for him to be "MVP" if he can't stay in a tie game with no outs in the 9th inning when he's standing on second base!!!!!!!!!

3) the play at third wasn't realy close, Ricky Henderson would have been out when you bunt the ball back to the pitcher. Blame Youk (and why is he hitting 5th again?!!???) for that god awful bunt.

wrong.........this is a chance to pick up another FULL game without having to watch any scoreboard. They will treat this like every other game. They are going for the kill.

They will rest anyone who needs it that first game of the west coast trip.

Not to rain on the parade, but how could no one is talking about Mussina and his back? It's probably a minor thing but it could turn into something to watch for.
