The Official 2006 New York Yankees Thread!

maybe or there just sick of the way team like the yankees are doing bussness in the mlb and have given up on baseball

Here's a suggestion Dob.....DON'T WATCH BASEBALL. If you hate the way the sport has become don't watch it. There's plenty of other things you can watch and get into that WON'T MAKE YOU COMPLAIN. Honestly, I bet you Marlins fans are sick of your whining. The fact is this, the Marlins beat the Yankees in 03 with like half the payroll. That right there is proof that it doesn't matter what kind of money you spend, all that matters is if the talent you have on the field gels and makes things happen. While you were probably complaining about the Yankees payroll before that series (and after), the Marlins players and their fans went out and proved that money don't make you a winner. The proof is in the putting. Actions speak louder then words and the Marlins play on 03 proves it!

So the Yankees should just pocket all the money they make and field a bunch of minor leaguers like the Marlins (before Marlins fans attack me I don't mean that the Marlins play like minor leaguers I am pointing out the fact that a ton of the Marlins were straight from the minor leagues this year)? Yeah, that would really turn their fans on. Yankee Stadium would be even more emptier then Dolphins Stadium when the Marlins play if they did that. I bet ratings would be through the roof on YES if they did that too. Plus the Yankees don't need to highest payroll to win, they need it to continue to make money and draw 4 million people to the Bronx to watch them play. You ever hear the expression "scared money don't make money." ? It means if your scared to throw your money down, you won't make any. If the Yankees don't spend their money and do things to attract fans, the fans won't come, just like with the Marlins. Do the Yankees over-spend, no doubt they probably do but every other team has the same luxary of doing so and it's their choice whether they do or not, end of story.

As far as the Yankees killing baseball, you couldn't be more wrong. It's franchises like the Marlins that are killing baseball because they don't spend the money neccesary to compete, don't attract fans, and then cry poor when things don't go right for them. And don't blame the Yankees for this, blame Bud Selig and the owners (including the Marlins owner) who refuse to implement a salary cap. The Yankees don't make the rules, they just play by them. You act like the Yankees created baseball or something. Your the most insecure dude I've ever seen in my life. :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: Stop whining about the Yankees and go spend some of your minimum wage money on a Marlins ticket!

By the way, this was no shot at the Marlins fans or organization. Most of the Marlins fans on here I respect and I think they had a hell of a year with all things considered!
i didn't read all that nonsense i know what u said "wah wah wah having the highest payroll in sports history is some how good for baseball to you" but if u care u can read my post in this thread

http://www.finheaven.com/boardvb2/showthread.php?t=155485

to see my veiws on blaming the smaller market teams for not going out and trying to have the highest payroll in sports history to compete

hey if in some way u could even enjoy what the yankees do to win than thats on you have fun

Alright I'm done with this, it's ruining the thread. You don't like the Yankees, don't come in the thread and talk about them then. For someone who hates the Yankees, you spend an awfully large amount of your time on finheaven obsessing wit them!

Here comes the whine about the Yankees, it happens every October. Did you know attendance is at an all-time high? they can't be hurting the sport that much, can they? Did you know George is one of the "poorest" owners in baseball w/one of the worst Stadium deals yet he spends as much as he does to win while richer owners are in abseball just for profit. George has been trying for 15 years to gte a new Stadium and he couldn't do it but his revenue sharing dollars went to help build Cincy's new ballpark. Instead of investing that money in players to help them get better they used it to help them get a new Stadium to make more money.

These other owners also don't mind when the yankees come to Town and their attendance increases dramaticall again making them more money(in many cases they raise ticket prices for yankee games). So please stop the whine, the payroll definitely gives us an advantage but it doesn't guarantee anything and baseball is very healthy and in areas where it is not it has more to do w/ cheap owners than owners like george who are trying to win.

not as pathhetic as the yankees needed the highest payroll sports history to win

it has nothing to do with being a marlins fan it has to do with being a baseball fan and since the yankees are killing baseball i dislike them

Randy Johnson might miss the first round of the playoffs or the whole playoffs with a herniated disc in his back. This is a major, major, major blow to the Yankees!

Lidell or Wright need to step up big now. 1 of those 2 must play big. I have more confidence in Wright at this moment in time.

I think everyone has had about enough of your opinion on the matter. You're trolling at this point.

Please leave the thread. Do not respond to this or any other post. Just bow out. Thank you.
