I know I said "creating my own thread for a specified game seems pompous" but, in this I think a Game 7 deserves it's own thread.

Rumour is Doug Weight is gonna play with a seperated shoulder (probably only on the power play) and Justin Williams is really hurting with a bad hand.

Can the Oilers hold up for the first 5 minutes? The crowd will be loud and there will probably be an early powerplay.

Can Jussi keep it up? I've been waiting for him to **** the bed. He needs another 60 minutes of quality play.

How much of a factor will the officials be? I've been trying to find out who the officials are for tonight to no avail. We can all only hope and pray that Mick McGough, Paul Devorski and Brad Watson are no where in sight.

I'm pretty sure Bill McCreary will be there and that is almost acceptable but I tihkn Brad Watson is his partner and that is not good. He's the most inconsistent official in the NHL right now.

Will the 'Canes be able to hold up to the constant pounding? The Oilers have been slamming them on the forecheck pretty good the last few games and it looks like it is wearing on the 'Canes defense.

Will Chris Pronger be able to walk after tonight? I look for him to play at least 35 minutes tonight...maybe even 40. If the Oilers win he is your Conn Smyth winner.

There have been a few game 7's of the Cup the last 10 years but this is honestly the most excited I've been about a game 7 since '94. It's been a good and sometimes great series.

Go Oilers!

Well out of 13 Stanley Cup Finals that went to game 7, the home team won 11 of them.

Carolina has scored 40 something goals out of 72-74 (not sure) at home.

Those quick stats alone should imply that Carolina will come out with the win, but time will tell.

Great shift by the Dvorak, Sammi, Stoll line...

I think things have settled down a little. The Oilers need to get it deep and start banging on the forecheck.

The Oiler defense is the key right now. The 'Canes have been using a 3 man forecheck at times...good outlet passes will create odd man rushes.

And the bad officiating rears it's ugly ****ing dead...

To let them play the whole ****ing period and then call Moreau for that **** with 10 seconds left is crap.
