Why is Mare on this football team? :tantrum:

He knew he was kicking off a crappy dirt field so AFTER he shanks one he decides OHHHH DUHHHHH maybe I should change cleats?

Two big misses by Mare cost us any chance we had.

ALSO, if Mare cannot kick a field goal from 52 yards then why punt it TWICE from the Pat's 35? Why not just go for it??? OHHHH NOOOO, that would be too smart.....if we went for it then we would not have our punter getting his punt blocked.

I'm on board! He is mentally weak. I'm tired of hearing excuses. Whether its off the dirft infield in Miami or painted dirt in NE, this guy is flat out incapable of making a FG under adverse circumstances. He is a professional and gets paid more money than most of us will ever see. Show some perserverance! He is the poster boy of this sorry group of players. Save some money and cut this loser now.
 
thread starter: you are EXTREMELY naive to how football works

1) mare doesn't make the play calls, saban does (you think mare WANTED to punt from the 35??)
2) mare doesn't choose what cleats go on his shoes
3) its not his fault the field had more dirt on it than a baseball diamond
4) the FG he missed was a 52 yarder.... 75% of 50+ yard FGs in this league are missed... give the guy a break!

Mare is a top-tier kicker. Respect the good playmakers on this team.
 
why would you get rid of the only guy who scores points on this team?

I hate to throw salt on a cut or gasoline on a fire but have you seen this guy's salary...that's the difference between New England and Miami

Adam V asked for crazy$$$$ and New England said NO even though they have close to 30 million in salary cap money(something we dont have)

Mare making 2 million+ IS OBSCENE
 
Mare sucks. I'm sick of him missing crucial kicks. He's got the leg strength. There's something wrong with his brain. Get him out of here.
 
Mare isn't the reason this team can't win, but...With a team that scratches and claws just to get into FG range, Mare's misses are catastrophic. And, these are short, makable FGs that should be made. His 2 misses today changed the entire game.

Does his mommy dress him for the games? Please, I am sick of all the Mare apologists...he is among the highest paid kickers in the NFL and he is horrible.

Did u factor in that he will probably lead the league in Touchbacks this season. It obvious he was having trouble with the field, because he slipped all 3 times. He is one of the more consistent kickers in the league and a deadly weapon on kickoffs. He had a tuff day and it happens. Would u feel more comfortable if we got a guy that we only pay 1.5 million? Stop worrying about salaries man, we have people in the front office who do that, stick to being a fan . . . if u are one of those.
 
These types of threads are what really makes me question why I even bother to come on this board. The first miss was on a crappy dirt field. The second would have been missed by all kickers 95% of the time. Not to mention from the same crappy dirt field. If you could do any better, then you would be kicking for an NFL team. This loss is not on Mare, it's on the dumb mistakes made by many players.

On the bright side, our defense looked damn good and the offense looked like a completely different unit with Joey running it. Had it not been for the mental break downs, we would have won this game.

Roman - you think because mare doesn't chose his cleats that he needs his mommy to dress him? are you that ignorant to how the NFL works? the players don't pick the cleats and jerseys, bud.... don't be so naive.
