Despite the outcome of tonight's game, Miami went punch for punch with one of the best teams in the NFL. They also completely dominated the first half. A few weeks ago, Miami was a few key plays away from beating the Colts, and pummeled the Colts all game long.

A couple things are apparent:

1. Miami is good. When they execute their gameplan, and grind out games on the ground, they are talented enough right now to win football games.

2. They aren't in the upper echelon of teams yet. We have seen that they are good enough to be competitive against even the best teams in the league, but can't seem to finish games off. I know the big W against the Jets had everyone's expectations sky high, but this game was a healthy dose of reality.

3. They're building their team the right way, and will be a perennial playoff contender in a year or 2. They had a cupcake schedule last year, and this year they have the most difficult schedule in the NFL, and are currently in the most difficult portion of that schedule. They are a few playmakers away from being a truly explosive force. They have the best rushing offense in the league. Their offensive line is already rock solid. Their run defense is stout. They need to improve the pass defense, and I'm sure the front office will address that via the draft, and potentially, free agency. I feel 100% confident that this team is being built with long term success in mind, not just to make a big splash one year, and then rebuild.

I for one, stand behind what the Dolphins are doing as an organization, and will not let a couple of tough losses to teams that should have blown Miami out anyways, shake my confidence in what this team is doing. I'm not jumping ship and neither should you.

IM WITH YOU MAN!!! we are the only team to pound the saints and colts for at least a few quarters! if we sweep the afc east ill be happy 6-10 whatever it takes.

I jumped ship about 2 hours ago. You should do the same. As long as we keep these P.O.S's on our team (Ginn,Wilson,Crowder) I will continue to dog them as often as I can

The whole "Ted Ginn family" can eat ****

Dont know where the hell the thanks button go but... Thanks!

Ginn needs to go....that being said, the D came to play, I was actually pretty impressed with the D as a whole, problem was they were out there WAY to much and got tired late....our lack of running the ball in the 2nd half still has me stumped.

Ginn needs to go, Pat White is a waste at this point, play calling in the 2nd half was bad....

I still have faith in this team, but Ginn and White need to go to the bench.

The fact is, we win the next 2 and we are through the toughest part of our schedule at 4-4. We will beat the Jets next week. They keep piling up injuries. Leon Washington is done for the year with a compound fracture in his leg. We already know they lost Jenkins for the year. Then we get the first Pats game. If we can win those I really like our chances.

im as big of a dolphin fan as there is and would never ever abandon the ship no matter wat, but im rlly getting sick and tired of hearing '' o we were able to keep it rlly close with teams like the saints, colts etc. this is the nfl u dont get any prizes for keeping it close but losing. we havent won any big time games in god knows how long, and i like most fans i think would agree that we r not satisified with '' keeping it close''. we have to find ways to win these games, bc keeping games close and not finishing is just the same as losing 24-0. its all 1 loss in the end.

No true fan should be talking about jumping ship. No way I'm EVER doing that. The players who lack toughness and/or pro skills however, (Ginn, Wilson, Crowder) need to be replaced.

Well put.

I am not jumping ship but can you add a number 4?

4. Ted Ginn has no value to the dolphins and is just a waste of a roster spot and money.

I wish there was a refund policy on draft picks.

I will never jump ship, but it sucks being in last place again. Why can't we catch the damn ball???

Maybe we should add Fasano to that list, too.:foundout:

Oh, I'm not jumping ship on this team. I love the Dolphins franchise

I just hate the majority of our players..

#1 Ted Ginn Jr. (aka Mr. drops)

I don't want to beat a dead horse.....but I would like to beat Ginn. He had better play lights out for the rest of the year. I would like to see him with a true #1 on our roster though. Not jumping ship....but they really let us down today...bloody feet.
