Alright here's the deal. We all know that Bill Parcells covets his linebackers because they are the catalysts to the 3-4 defense that Parcells likes to employ. We are already have a NT in Jason Furguson to keep the blockers off of the linebackers but who do you guys think Bill Parcells is most interested in? The name of the game is to pick one linebacker and one reason why you think Parcells is looking at them. My pick is Shawn Crable out of the University of Michigan because he's the perfect fit for the 3-4 as he can stand up or put his hand in the ground. He's a poor man's Vernon Gholston that we could get later in the draft.

Jeremy Thompson out of Wake Forest. Bit of a risky pick in that he was a DE at Wake Forest but I think this guy could be really good as an OLB. I know I'm cheating but I think Darren Mustin would be a great ILB prospect with our 7th rounder

I haven't herd of them. I also herd somewhere that the Dolphins were interested in J. Lehman who i think would make a good ILB. He wouldn't play the thumper or plug position but the guy who typically makes the tackle.

Finding a starting LB is tricky this draft, but I think taking a risk at either 2a or 2b or later, is an option (best available-suited for the 3-4)...unless we pass on Ryan with #1, then I think looking at the best avail QB in the 2b spot is viable.
Names...I do like the poor man's Gholston.... some speed would be nice too.

I like Leman but he tends to have tough time shedding blockers which would be tough for an ILB in a 3-4

Here's a scouting report on Thompson. Sorry couldnt find one on Mustin

I thought the same thing about J Lehman before i watched some of his highlights. When he has to take on blockers he takes them on low which helps him to win some of those battles. Also i think his instincts and hopefully J. Furguson will help him to not have to take on as many blockers.

Here's some info on Darren Mustin:

Here's another guy to think about. While I don't think he'll be a perennial Pro-Bowler, I think he'll make a steady, lunch-pail guy that will be in the league for 10yrs.:

Jonathan Goff Vanderbilt Height: 6-2 | Weight: 245 | 40-Time: 4.63

I think Weeler could be a very good ILB for us with the way he can make plays sideline to sideline (ALA Zach), is a dependable tackler, stout at the middle and has the athletic ability to drop into coverage.
