*** The Official Pat White Thead***

I'm happy with the pick but I feel like it was too high also.

If the possibility came along, I would've given that pick up for Boldin, A GUARANTEED stud receiver. And I might sound crazy, but I would rather have signed Mike Vick to run the Wildcat. White will be exciting, but just imagine Vick!!!

White is a far better passer and person then Mike Vick. Are you aware that White threw the deep out better then Sanchez on Pro Day? He can come in at WR and ease into it. Catching screen passes to start with just to keep the D off balance. I am sure he will also return kicks.

Teams know we will go into the Wildcat enough already to figure out when it will happen. But White keeps Penny and Henne off the field for it, and it now makes a defense have to account for another athlete that can throw the ball. Penny was usually off to the side and now and then throwing a pass. White will make the D have to spread out even more to defend everything.

I think the Fins were ready to take Everette Brown, which is why Carolina traded up and snagged him. So White was next on our list. Tomorrow, The tuna will get us LBs and Dlineman, and I think possibly a TE and WR if there is a good one available.

You guys just need to sit back and watch the team get rebuilt. We got some of our best players on day 2 last year. This draft is awesome.

waste of pick....well who said Henne is the starter....if White out plays him he is the starter.....

EXACTLY -- so then HENNE is the wasted pick. Either way, we wasted a 2nd round pick. You cant put 2 QBs on the field at once.

Pat White as a pro WR??? thats a huge project and not worth a 2nd-round pick.
Pat White for the wildcat only? great, a 2nd-round pick on a guy who sees the field 6-10 times per game.

Sorry, Terrible pick. Pat White is a great athlete and I love watching him play -- but for the Dolphins, at that spot, just a terrible pick.

Hines Ward was a QB in college. He's kinda good at WR. Just have faith in the people that took this team from 1-15 to 11-5. I assure you they know far more then you ever will about football drafting.

True, Hines was a college QB converted successfully to WR. Got any others? I dont think it works out too often.

If it does, then great -- but this pick was still a huge reach at the 44th pick overall, if the plan really is to convert him to WR (which Jeff Ireland said it is NOT today -- read sun sentinel Omar blog today)

Randle El?

It is pure myth that White is a better passer than Mike Vick was.

I didn't like this pick at all, Pat White is a great kid and he'll make the wildcat more explosive but we already have a kick returner and as a WR he's not gonna be that great at least for a while. And with Clint Sintim and Connar Barwin still sitting there I don't think it was the best choice. But I can't really doubt anything Bill Parcells does.

Hines played Wr,qb and RB in college big differance.
I guess we should have just traded for Brad Smith.

You know Pat White is going to get a look at returning kickoffs and you all know how important being able to play on special teams is to the FO. This really shouldn't be such a catastrophe for some of you. It makes more sense than having Harvin and Ginn on the same team. Pat's been pretty consistently projected in the 2nd round. At the time we picked no unbelievable talent had really slipped to make it seem like we missed out on something. Though I was skeptical at first, I am increasingly very happy that Pat White is a Dolphin.

Hate the pick. It's a luxury pick on a team that has many more needs then a slash. Clint Sintim would have been nice or even move up and nab Everette Brown and move him to OLB. I am still scratching my head on this one. I have not questioned the tri-fecta and I am gonna stick true to that but it's hard not to. The only thing I can say for a fact is that Tony Sparono loves guys that are "flexible" and "can do alot of jobs ok" lol

pat white was the best player available. He had a better combine than anyone. He proved himself on the field. What the f--- do you want from him? Im sorry, to all you who think that henne is the future. Yea, future pocket passer. Pat white is the future play MAKER. Pat white can do IT ALL! do you see a flaw in his game? Forget about height! Drew Brees is a top 3 quarterback in the nfl and he is only 6 foot. Michael vick was unbelieveable quarterback at 6 foot. Doug Flutie was 5-10. Height is good, but the it factor lives in pat white. Watch and see him grow into an amazing player!

So you think White is our new qb of the future and we wasted a pick on Henne. I could care less about some it factor. In fact we had just a basic good quarterback and he led us to the playoffs.

No reason to think White will excel on kickoffs when Ted Ginn was already good at it in college and now all of a sudden is not good enough to do it in the pros.

No reason to have expected Bess of all people to beat out Ginn as our lead returner. Meh, I was never really sold on giving up on Ginn as our returner but Sparano certainly is so I wouldn't be surprised if we take a hard look at White as a possibility in that capacity.

Also, White being some huge reach keeps coming up on this thread. I would agree he might be a reach for us since we still have so many needs, but being taken in the 2nd was not some crazy al davisesque debacle. He was consistently projected as a 2nd round pick.
