Yes, it does mean we will be out of the playoffs but face it as much as we hoped (and I did) that the Fins would make it the odds are stacked against them, but there is one good thing about a Pats win:

With the Pats looking like they'll clinch today, you know that they will rest their players the last week of the season to get ready for the wild card round. So that will probably be an easy win (one that will not be given any credit, however) for the fins so 9-7 is looking good right now. So after a 4-12 season we can if business is proberly taken care of have a 5 game swing and be a wiining team quite an accomplishment if you ask me.:dolphins:

Good point if you would have said it would have been a good shot for the wild card. We arent out of the playoff picture yet.

There is never an easy win in the NFL, let alone going to NE in January. They will be in the 4th posistion almost for sure so they probably wont have their starters in for all 60 but i would expect them to all start and play at least the 1st half.

I'd like to see the highly overrated Doug Flutie being pounded by our non-resting Dolphins D. :)

We probally will. this reminds me of 2002. we beat you guys in the last game of the season to foil your playoff hopes but the jets beat the packers and stole the east. If the jets had lost both the pats and fins would of got in

wrong. the dolphins were elminated after the pats loss. and then the jets RAPED the packers

The packers had clinched and were resting I believe.

meh I believe you guys still had a chance if NY lost but whatever. what was the score of that game like 42-0?

and you are right, if the jets had lost we would of made the platoffs as a wildcard

the broncos would've made it as a wild card
WRONG

Miami had a better record vs the conference. Miami and NE both would have made it in.

one good thing is i won 200 bucks.

thats the only GOOD thing that came about from the game.

The one good thing about the Pats loss is, for those of us who realize the Phins wont be in the playoffs come January can now be happy that the pressure is off the Dolphins, they wont really have to worry and can play football and enjoy it whilst winning a few games here and hopefully finishing 500. or better. I want the greatest record improvement possible if we dont make the playoffs, forget a draft pick. I would be delerious if Saban had this team at 9-7, and now that the Pats have the AFC East sewn up hopefully the team will be less pressured about playoffs and just come out and dominate the final 3 games.
