The one thing I am worried about....

You're kidding right? Have you seen his contract? The production relative to his pay would require 2 1st round picks just to make it worth it... we are getting All-Pro talent and production for the price of a mid-grade DE.

The question is how is OV going to be used in the future. Two of his sacks in the last game came from A-gap blitzes. This isn't normal for a 4-3 DE. As a 4-3 DE he has been good against the run, but really hasn't been impressive with down-to-down pressure. I know he has 10 sacks...but that is really skewed by the last game and how he was used.

I think folks are letting one game paint a better picture of this guy than what he has really done this year...

He's more of a Justin Tuck than Jason Taylor or Cameron Wake. He's more similar to Odrick than he is to a true edge rushing DE.

I definitely see us building a DL the way the Giants did.

You obviously have problems with reading comprehension. Go back, reread my post again, slowly, then comment again. When did I say Wake has no impact? What I said was, Wake is doing the exact same thing he did last season, not even at the same level as last season but, OV has improved. With Wake being injured this season, he isn't even doing what he did last season but, OV has 10.5 sacks in 12 games. All I'm saying is most of OVs sacks and improvement is on him and not Wake. Does Wake help OV, yes but, does OV now help Wake as well, yes.
I don't think you get it. Yes, OV has improved - we can all see that. But Wake is still the guy seeing all the double teams, chips, play action, rolled protection, etc. If Wake leaves, how well does OV (even the improved OV) cope with all that on him. My guess is he does ok, but his impact will be greatly diminished. I do not think he is good enough (yet) to carry the pass rush load for this team. Maybe once Jordan develops, the two of them can handle it. But it's way too early to call OV "the man" and go trading your stud, especially when you consider Wake's bang for buck ratio.

Kinda like when JT left after Wake came? All I'm saying is, OV has done enough to get some recognition for his sacks and not have it all contributed to whatever it is Wake is doing. Wake was on the same line last year and OV had 3.5 sacks. Considering Wake isn't doing all he did last year, because of injury and OVs sacks have improved to 11.5, is it ALL Wake? Or has OV improved? I understand the double teams Wake gets....he got them last year also and OV had 3.5 sacks. My stud will be 32 years old next season and won't get much better. I'd make the trade tomorrow if Ryan Tannehill is protected. Now, that's all I'd trade Wake for but, I'd do it in a heartbeat if the most important player on our team is protected. Yes, I'm betting OV and Jordan will develop into a great tandom and we keep Solai.

The reason OV is having the year he's having is solely because of CaM Wake? That's silly and hilarious. Wake was on the same line as OV last season and OV only had 3.5 sacks. What changed from last season to this? OVs improvement is what changed. I'd trade wake in an instant if it meant RT was protected.

Might want to change your avatar from Cam Wake to Vernon Dude. But seriously man I disagree, Cam Wake makes the whole D-Line go. He is getting pressure and HELD on nearly every play, he is our Defensive MVP plain and simple. I am sure Vernon would say the same thing.

Wake is the most important and best player on out D. Period.

OV has improved no doubt but he doesn't see one-on-one blocking without Wake...as a matter of fact he was doubled more often in the Pats game than Wake and that's why Wake got a sack and a number of hurries and hits on Brady. With Wake and OV you can only double one of them, the other one is going to get pressures and sacks...that's how it's supposed to be.

Yes, Veronon and Jordan are showing flashes.

But lets not forget alot of Vernon and Jordan big plays come because Wake is double teamed or the pass protection is shifted in his direction.

That is not the reason it's possible to trade him. The reason is $$$.

What's up with all these trade Wake talk this week? Watch Wake is going to make a huge play for us this Sunday and then these comments/threads will disappear

Every time we find a playmaker on our team there are always a few people on here who can't wait to trade him away.
