I have been thinking about the draft for what seems like forever now and I have been looking on here forever. I really enjoy this site by the way this is the best Miami site by far and alot of smart people with informing info. But anyways I hear alot of people say I hope the Jets do not get Run DMC with #6 and I see why that brings some worries to the mind. But lets face it that would be 1000 times better than my one fear this year. That Run DMC falls to #7 and Goodell walks to the podium and announces ---With the #7 pick in the 2008 NFL draft the New England Patriots select RB Darren McFadden from Arkansas. That would bring a tear to my eye. Can you imagine how good they were not really having a running game. I dont think Faulk and Maroney constitutes as a running game. The Giants got pressure on Brady cause he doesnt have a decent RB to hand off to and run play action and so on. I think wed be in for another poss undefeated season except this time they hold the trophy up after the big game. Im not really worried that they get Ellis or Harvery or even Branden Albert. They will get their CB later on in the draft. So this could be the worse thing that happens tommorrow IMO. And if they still had a pick at #30 they would prob then grab a Talib or Balmer for D. I hope if its between the Jets and Pats for McFadden that the Jets grab him. Clemmons and Penny wil not beat you but with DMC they would be solid with him and all off their offseason sigings. What do you guys think? Would you rather them take Run DMC instead of Ellis. Who would worry you the most to suit up in a Pats uni this upcoming seson?

I think a lot of people on this board are too worried about McFadden.

I'd be more worried if the Patriots took Long or Gholston.....

Doesn't worry me. We've got Jake Long on the left side now. My only worry with the Patriots is that they will find some way to fleece a team into giving up a pick to move up into the top 10 for Matt Ryan or some other prospect. The Patriots always seem to come up with a trade for extra picks.

Mcfadden does have breakaway speed but if I am choosing between this years crop of backs I would take either Mendenhall, Stewart or Kevin Smith. The first two have a more bulk than Smith but Kevin has great vision and just seems like a very smoothe back.

Stewart on the other hand is my favorite back in this draft, built more like Ronnie with his muscular frame, thick trunk with good speed to boot. Catches the ball well out of the backfiled and seems to pass protect better than Mendenhall and alot of the other backs coming out. Besides, the guy will lay the wood on you too. My favorite Ronnie Brown clip is watching him run over the Raider DB last year getting into the endzone.

There is no way McFadden gets past the Jets. So don't worry about the Pats getting him.

The top 6 will break down something like this;

1. J. Long
2. C. Long
3. G. Dorsey
4. McFadden/Gholston
5. Wildcard
6. McFadden/Gholston

I really have no idea what the Chiefs will do. I don't think they will take Ryan, and Clady to me seems like a reach. They COULD take Gholston if the Raiders don't take him.

Besides I would put money on the Pats trading back to 10 with the Saints who will take Ellis. Just depends on whether this Shockey rumor is true.

Well Mcshay and Kiper seem to think Gholston might make it to the teens....

they think he should be picked in the teens. Basically said had he not had a 3 sack game against Michigan on national television, he would not be considered a top 5 pick.

Hell, I was reading an article where one scout said that Gholston's attitude towards football is an embarrassment and that he is the laziest SOB he ever met. Said if it wasn't for his athletic ability, he wouldn't even be a hot prospect

I hate for them to take Gholston or Long or Ellis or DRC or Leodis but cmon we couldnt stop them without a RB last year now they run a Play action with Dmac and we bite as usual since our corners are terrible and Randy or Welker are wide open 50 yds downfield. They will get there D players later on and they will be good picks casue they always pick well. But Im more worried about DMAC than a D player. I think with DMC the Pats beat the NYG. The Giants knew they had to throw more than they should with Maroney and Faulk in the backfield. SO they got pressure rushing the passer everytime but with a legitimate Back you cant rush every single time. For the Pats it would help Brady out as well more than a D player. DMAC keeps the D off the field longer than a 80 yd bomb to Moss. So there D will give up fewer points not being tired all the time from such qucik scoring.

Doubtful, your thinking is a little askew being a Dolphins fan. Trading down does little for a team with so much talent. They can only keep so many. They only have two on their roster from last years draft. They would be better served, in all likelihood, trading their deepest drafts away would be the smarter move.

fadden to NE would suck. 4 wide and all go deep then a dump pass to him and he has 20 yards before anyone knows what hit them.
