The Only Christmas Game QB I Would Take Over Ours

Aaron Rodgers is the best QB in the league hands down. I love Tua but I said it before the season started ill pay rogers whatever he wants to play here. We will be SuperBowl contenders immediately.

All we had to do in 2005 was draft him over a running back who split Carry’s at Auburn…thank you Little Nicky.

I was advocating for his selection in that draft on this board…I had seen him in College QB comp and some games at California. His quick release reminded me of Marino.

It would have changed Dolphin history!

Yeah I was actually shocked he fell that far down

Remember the board back then? Rodgers was written off because he was a Tedford progeny. If we had drafted him, not only would most of the fans here been dissatisfied, but the majority would have been full on angry. I remember not really following the draft back then and not having an opinion, but Rodgers was literally passed over by everyone solely because of Tedford. I remember Rodgers expression as he kept getting passed over team after team.He was embarrassed and angry. I remember thinking that he had a real chip on his shoulder. Boy has he made the league pay over the years for their lack of judgement on draft night. Ironically, if you google Rodgers and Tedford, you'll find articles well into his career still predicting he would fail.

That was an element to it but I think it was mostly the fact that after the top few teams there weren't a whole lot that felt they needed a QB. Rodgers could have easily gone first overall and it wouldn't have been that controversial. I don't think there was that much of a gap between him and Smith in the eyes of the NFL scouts.

The dolphins didn't draft him because they were in win now mode and thought themselves contenders. I don't think they wanted Ronnie Brown either but noone would trade for the pick. It wasn't an accident that the talks of a rookie scale started soon after that draft

I was screaming at the television when we drafted Ronnie brown, 😂 I was like noooo… I followed college football at the time big time. I saw rogers games at Cali. He was legit. Rogers makes everyone look like an all pro. The packers ****ed up when they drafted love instead of a weapon for the offense. Even if rogers wins Super Bowl this year he’s gone. If I’m Miami i go all out for rogers and his wr adams.

I caught a lot of heat here advocating Rodgers in that draft.

I just never could understand a team that had its best eras led by hall of fame QB’ing? Settling for journeyman at the games most important position.

Of course Shula was gone, who certainly understood what having Unitas, Griese and Marino meant to his great Baltimore and Miami teams.

If I was GM…QB is my priority unless I have a franchise QB…and if I did I’m taking a shot at a good prospect somewhere in the draft…the position is too important!

I felt it was a foregone conclusion. SF was going to take Rodgers or Smith, and we were taking the other one. It was about as bad as when we took Ginn over Quinn.

Obviously, Ginn ended up being a better player than Quinn, but to take a good return man and okay receiver when you need a QB, due to nepotism...

Rodgers is the only qb I would trade for over tua. The guy makes it look so easy.

I love watching Rodgers throw the football. He makes it seem to easy.
Agree, there is something about his mechanics and motion that is smooth and looks effortless. And the ball is always a perfect spiral and arc.

And to think, he completely changed his mechanics from college when he was taught by Tedford

Electing to go with Culpepper instead of brees, brown over rodgers...maybe this franchise has finally turned the corner with the selection of Tua
