Fortunatly I have not been following the draft prospects as much as I have in the past couple of years due to the success the Dolphins have had on the field. So is this year going to have a lot of good prospects still available in the 2nd and 3rd rounds or is it going to be a weak draft like 2005?

depends on the positon.

If you want/need a QB, this is a very weak senior class, also there doesn't seem to be any feature backs or go-to WRs in this draft (seniors I mean). There are some decent WRs in the mid rounds, but no go-to guys.

This is a very deep OT draft, probably deeper than last year with Eugene Monroe, Michael Oher, and Jason Smith all first round picks (with Andre Smith being the best of the bunch if he declares) and you've also got good guys like Alex Boone,Troy Kropog, Phil Loadholt, Jamon Meredith, and Gerald Cadogan among others getting favorable grades.

There are also some good interior linemen with guys like Duke Robinson and Herman Johnson at OG, and guys like Alex Mack, Max Unger, Jonathan Luigs, and Antoine Caldwell at C.

Very deep draft for DEs/OLBs for the 3-4 with Brian Orakpo, Michael Johnson,Clint Sintim and Larry English being the best. There are however several juniors who if they declare are very good choices as well (George Selvie, Greg Hardy, Everette Brown)

Very deep draft for potential NTs as well with BJ Raji, Terrence Taylor, and Ron Brace being the best fits. If Shaun Cody enteres, he's a good fit as well. You also have some guys who could be good DEs in the 3-4, but could grow into NTs in Peria Jerry, Evander Hood, and Jon Gill among others

Very good LB class with Rey Mauluga,James Laurinitis, Brian Cushing, Clay Matthews, Aaron Curry, Marcus Freeman, Scott McKillop, and Jasper Brinkley

The CB depth is good, but after Malcolm Jenkins there are no elite prospects unless Vontae Davis and DJ Moore enter the draft. However, guys like Alphonso Smith,Darius Butler, Mike Mickens,Macho Harris, Kevin Barnes, Sherod Martin, DeAngelo Smith, and Bruce Johnson all are good prospects. There are other very good prospects as well.

Very deep safety draft even if Taylor Mays does not enter the draft. William Moore is the only senior safety with a first round grade right now, but there are a lot of guys who could be starters. Rashad Johnson,Patrick Chung,Louis Delmas, Michael Hamlin, Derick Pegues, David Bruton, Courtney Green, and Curtis Taylor are all very good prospects.

It's difficult to say if this draft will have good overall depth past the first day until we know how many underclassmen declare for the draft. The senior class of QBs and WRs are not that strong so you may see some underclassmen declare because they could be drafted higher this year than if they stayed for their senior season.

With question marks surrounding the CBA in 2010, you may get some juniors and redshirt sophomores declaring to avoid the potentiallity of there being some kind of rookie salary cap if the owners get their way.
